I want to put basic android tv controls on my homescreen, anyone have a widget?

The is a 4k Minix box which can send 4k videos, but not Youtube 4k. It seems related to the Youtube app. If I use the smart TV app, it plays 4k, but if I use the official YT app in the box, HD is the maximum resolution shown for 4k videos.

It looks like a Youtube restriction and I don't know of other apps. Playing videos through the YouTube web works but turns out to be cumbersome and impractical.

Any help?

I've had it for a few weeks, on the latest update, and if I knew that it'd perform like this I would never had bought it. I know it is cheap but it has been pretty rubbish.

It loses wi fi connection, freezes, lags and crashes/resets quite often (most sessions). Sometimes doesn't turn on. If I use it without anything going wrong I am surprised.

Is this just how it is for what is a cheapo product and if I pull the trigger and buy a Shield TV, will these things not happen?

Edit: I have done a factory reset, which did slightly reduce frequency of errors, but not a lot

It bothers me a lot as I keep getting the notification when a member of my family is using the TV. I've tried looking for solution on the internet but couldn't find any. I read an article saying to disable "Let others control your cast media" but couldn't find the option on my TV.

TV is Sony X8500G.

With all the issues with the Mi Box S, is the issue with the update or are there apps missing an updated API for 9?

I have 2 Mi Box S. Both have hulu issues and I cannot get Facebook watch to load videos.

Unrelated, I have a 1st Gen Mi Box, and the updated Hulu freezes on commercial breaks.

I'd like to see this community rise up and bombard either Xioami or Hulu with complaints and maybe we can get something fixed asap.

Any way of getting my nexus player Google play store working on it I believe it's on 8.0.0 from the last update I believe I still had a unlocked bootloader but no root or twrp since googled overrided it back in the day really don't wanna try and go buy a device right now

I've been looking for an android TV box so I was considering about the Mi Box S, so is it good and if anyone using it do you recommend me buying it?

I just got this little box yesterday, it is connected to a 5GHz wifi router (ac1300, asus rt-ac68u), distance is about 20cm from the router.

I have tested the connection speed with Analiti, I get 60Mbps, my internet connection is 200Mbps and I get those 200Mbps with other devices connected to the same WiFi in the home.

Is that it? Is the WiFi on this device that slow?

I am on Android 9 and so far I am not impresed. The Netflix app needs some time to reach a good bitrate while the native app on my TV is much faster, it starts on full quality always.

I bought it mainly to use it with Disney+ because my TV won't get the app :(.

I've bought a 5.1 home theater sound system (Sony HT-RT3), that supports only Dolby Digital 5.1 but not Dolby Atmos.
My Philips smart tv Netflix app, supports only Dolby Atmos for 5.1 surround sound.
Netflix from PC (connected to the TV) has 5.1 and works fine.
I am looking for an alternative solution. Maybe some Android box, that is supported by Netflix and it supports Dolby Digital 5.1?

Everywhere is out of stock of the Shield TV Pro except for some sellers on Amazon who are price gouging. Is there any way to get this device at retail price or any news when NVIDIA will stock up?

Hey there, I recently tried to play some old games on my Android TV but I couldn't get a good emulator, do anyone has some recommendation?

Also the home button on my shield remote?

My android tv is stuck on upgrading. When I start tv, it shows samsung logo, then few seconds of android is upgrading app and then it shuts down automatically. I'm not able to reach settings option or even hard reset option by pushing (mute+1+8+2+power) buttons on remote. No matter what I press, it stays on the same upgrading android screen for few seconds and shuts down. It doesn't do anything else. Does anyone has any suggestion? What can I do to fix this problem?

Forgive the long post. Just bought a new Sharp 4K. I've connected my USB drive and setup DLNA. I've side loaded VLC, MK player, Kodi and Plex but they all stutter. VLC is the worst. The inbuilt player is the best but doesn't have any features like move forward or backward. Also it struggles with 4K video.

What does the community recommend?

Also I'm considering a NAS or Mini PC to stream video but not until I get satisfactory playback.

how to watch web based streaming services on Mi Box and android tv alike ?

I have two MiBoxes that I got when they were 50% off. I know that the Nvidia is the high end unit - but I am curious what exactly it does better. I am pretty darn happy with the MiBox - but that Nvidia is on sale right now - so just maybe I'll upgrade.
