Do you think this controller would work with an Android TV box?

by odlebees

Hey guys, I have a quick question. I'm buying a T95 Android TV box with Android TV 9.0, and there's these controllers I found that say they're basically plug and play and compatible with pretty much everything. They specifically mention that they work great with SNES9X and ZSNES. But then it says "not compatible with Android TV" and "not compatible with online games" (??). Even though it's totally compatible with Android phones and tablets.

Now I'm wondering if maybe they don't work with Android TV right out of the box, but maybe they will work with an emulator like SNES9X if I map the buttons in the config menu. Or maybe they'll work fine, because the write-up for the TV box is from like 2017. I've heard that any X-input or D-input controller should work fine with newer Android TV boxes.

Any thoughts on this?

Here's the controller btw: https://www.amazon.ca/Controller-Gamepad-Joystick-Gamestick-Raspberry/dp/B01MYUDDCV/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?keywords=usb+controller&qid=1584543911&sr=8-11

That's not an "Android TV" box. It's a generic android box. The controller would probably work, but I'd rather get a MiBox than that POS.

Look at 8bitdo gamepads, they're great! Bought recently two SF30 controllers and have no problems connecting or playing. This gamepads will connect easily via Bluetooth and will work not only in games but in the shell as well.
