Hello there, does someone know a movies streaming app with movies in french ? I'm actually using Viva TV but all movies are in English and i have to add subtiles

Since I updated my Mi Box S to android 9.0 I can no longer close it down using the power off button. Am I stupid or am I missing something ?

So I'm trying to get one locally but no electronic store carries one....at all in or near philadelphia. All they carry is the shield tv tubular model. Now, all i want to do is steamlink and emulators. Will the shield tv work just fine for me? Main reason why i wanted the pro was the usb ports so i can attach my external drive which has all my roms (ps1, snes, n64 and such). It will also work secondarily as my media hub for my tv.

I have plugged a 1TB external storage and formatted it as internal drive. It works with media just fine.

In the apps section, when I tap "Storage used", for some apps it allows me to select the USB drive (with 880GB available), however it fails with "not enough storage space".

What does it mean? There is plenty of storage space in that drive, that's the reason I'm trying to move apps there...

My Mi Box S has 8GB of internal storage (5GB visible).

I attached a 500GB drive and selected "format as internal storage".

It seems to work as I was able to upload much more than 5GB of movies without problems. However, the play store does not allow me to install new applications! It says my internal storage is full.

So, it seems media content goes to the new drive, but applications are still stuck in the original storage? I don't see any option to choose where the applications should be stored.

I don't like this voodoo behavior, no idea where things are...

EDIT: In some of the apps, I can tap the "storage used" option and select "USB Drive" (with 881 GB available), however, it failes with "Not enough storage space" - that makes no sense!

I'm diving into the Google ecosystem. I recently bought Stadia and now I want to ditch my old Philips TV and Xbox for a 50 - 55" TV with AndroidTv built in. I would like to be able to purchase 32" basic models as well. I don't care to use all the android apps just a few. Here is what I need: 4K HDR for the 50-55", 720 or 1080 for 32", voice control, with the ability to use the following apps: netflix, youtube, google music, google movies, youtube music, and pluto. Not being to use all of these apps mentioned would be a dealbreaker. Amazon Video app support would be nice too, but I hear it currently doesn't work?

Is this possible or a even good idea? I looked at Hisense & Phillips models, but they had bad reviews. Seems like AndroidTv doesn't even work properly, but I'd be happy if I could just use the apps mentioned.

Just looking for advice & suggestions for current owners and users.

i am trying to install some apps on my android tv but i am getting this message ... you need allow drawing over other apps .. but i dont have this option in my tv setting

When using the Live Channels app, how do I pause what’s playing. I know I’ve seen the pause || button before but no longer can find it .... may have been thinking about a different app since I use multiples.

The settings on the box is set to 4k 60hz and can play Netflix 4k perfectly. I can also play 4k local files without any issues with Kodi. However I cannot set the resolution within the Kodi app to anything else than 1080 which probably means I play 4k material with only 1080p output

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Today I bought a Mi Box S and without digging first, I updated straight away without knowing the issues this version came with. So far everything has worked however Netflix only shows content in HD, not 4K (4K logo is not present). My TV comes with Netflix and YouTube preinstalled, I thought my Netflix partner could have changed the subscription type but nope, I can still see 4K HDR content directly from the Netflix app on my tv, but not through the Mi Box (which is a bummer since I wanted to use it for all these apps) is this a known issue? Does any of you know if there's a fix? Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind, fixed it after unplugging the device for 5 minutes (HDMI and Power Supply cable) and after restarting the device showed the 4K HDR in all applicable shows.

I installed the app on my Xiaomi Mi Box 3 but cannot enable the "notification access" part. I managed to connect the Mi Box with my desktop via adb connect but after i executed the "adb shell" line and then "cmd notification allow_listener", it says "No command shell implementation"??? My Mi Box is running on Oreo.

I know that many have given up and returned this device (JBL Link Bar), but I'm still soldiering on, some others may be too.

About two weeks ago I noticed that a bunch of really basic "Hey Google" commands stopped working, for example "Hey Google, volume 30%". If the TV was off then I'd get some form of "Sorry I don't know how to do that yet", if the TV was on then I'd get a bunch of YouTube search results related to volume increase (e.g. increase hair volume!!!).

This clearly wasn't related to any action that I'd taken and was due to something either on the backend or an application updated.

I contacted JBL yesterday and (unfortunately), just got asked to reset the device - twice!

What I did notice when I did the reset was that immediately after the reset, before any updates, the volume command returned to normal. This confirmed that one of the updates introduces the problem.

I decided to review the apps that are updated and figured that the "Google app for Android TV" looked like it was most likely to be associated with the symptom. I've "Uninstalled" the app, which actually reverts it back to the original reset version AND disabled automatic updates.
This workaround restores the volume control via "Hey Google" and I've not noticed any negative side affects at this point.

I'll intermittently try updating the app and uninstalling it to see if the app has been fixed. My guess is that either Google have a bug in the app, or JBL should and didn't test it before allowing it's release to their devices.

Is there a way to force landscape mode on portrait only apps? I've sideloaded ITV Hub so I can watch on my TV, unfortunately, the app is stuck in portrait mode for the menus. Can I force landscape mode? Or is there another option? The app settings don't give a force landscape option.

So I need to simulate touch emulation on my shield TV but have no pc to root, I've tried installing windows (couldn't get to run), Kali & Ubuntu 19 to see if I could install vysor or scrcpy to achieve this but couldn't get it running. I saw a video about touch emulation without root on xda using an Arduino board - I bought this but the app has now disappeared off the playstore and the Dev is not responding so that's not an option. Is there anything I can do to root my shield or can anyone help me with running scrcpy or vysor on my Samsung s7 without a pc?

As you might know, the reason why Android TV is so blurry in the launcher/menus is that it doesn't support 4k. You can hack in into running 4k using ADB commands, but then icons are broken.

Has 4k support been fixed in Android TV 11 or is the interface still blurry?

I want an app that will automatically show me the news as it updates. Nothing fancy but a single app.

Anything like that out there?

Edit: Tried the ones recommended down below, they were either paid or ad supported. In the end, I found YouTube News (using Smart YouTube TV) to be the least intrusive and it offered decent enough news.

I activated "Pointer location" in the developer settings. The TV restartet 2 times and now it won't boot past the Android boot animation. I've read that some android TVs have a reset button to acces the recovery menu but I didn't found it. Please help every idea helps.
