So I have an NVidia Shield on my main TV in the house, the rest have Roku players and my wife is getting annoyed with the fact that many of her files on her External Drive or USB flash drives can't be played on the Roku's. So looking to replace the Roku's with Android TV devices but don't really want to pay $200 each. What are the best Android TV options with USB playback that aren't too bad on pricing.

So I have a 40" tv in our bedroom and want to use our CCGTV with it but it has no CEC inputs and all the RCA codes don't work. Is there anything I can do other than go through each TV to see if their codes work?

Here in my country the options are very short and you don't have many brands however in past year I saw in Walmart and other places tvs from TCL, Motorola and Xiaomi.

The best cheap QLED is the C715 55" version around $710, I think this model is from 2020, but you think is a option for the price?

Someone have this model?

Hi! Looking to get into a tv with androidtv enabled. If I am playing Spotify on another device (speaker, laptop, etc) but have the Spotify app up on the tv, will I be able to control it in a similar way that casting works on laptop/phone? This was one of my main issues of appletv, that I’d be listening to music on a smart speaker but want to change it from the tv and not be able to.

How can i turn off screensaver in mi box s ? There is no option (never) in screensaver sitting.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A21 and an Onn Roku TV and I want to screen mirror but I can't actually find ways to do so.

The only things that I could find are play store apps that make you have to go into the app itself, go to the browser and go on whatever I'm watching, click a play button, connect to the app on the TV then it plays, back out then repeat the entire process.

I don't think I can select an option on my phone to screen mirror and the process is pretty inefficient, so if anyone has any apps, apks or ANYTHING please let me know, if u have to please send me to other sub reddit that might be able to help.

So I just got an Android TV and so far my experience has been a pleasant one. I have experienced one small inconvenience though: My TV is not connected to cable / satellite, I am just using it for Netflix, Prime and live TV over the internet. Every time I switch it on it says no signal or searching for channels and I have to press home on the remote to see the home page. Is there a way to set it up so that it goes straight to home after boot?

In the interest of getting rid of Google banners on my home screen, I need to disable Google play services. The prob with that is with Netflix, which pops up a message saying play services needs to be enabled for Netflix to work. This does not seem to be true, as it works just fine with the exception of the pop up coming up and returning when dismissed. Anyone know a way around this, or a way of disabling those messages? This is on a tivo stream 4k, android 9. Thanks.

Hey, I was in search of an Android TV box or alternative to play movies that I have on my external hard drive or plex system which is capable of outputting 4K HDR10+ and 7.1 Dolby Atmos or alternative audio sources. Heard from a friend that you can make an Android TV with SBC, it sounds really dope! Has anyone tried this? Will this be too difficult for a newbie? I am currently interested in khadas VIM3, but it seems that they have recently launched a new version. Does the gap between VIM3 and VIM4 have a big impact on my use as an Android TV?

I recently purchased an Nvidia Shield to replace my Fire TV Stick running Kodi. I've attempted in Kodi and VLC to adjust subtitles for styled fonts, usually embedded within a media container in the SSA format. I have an OLED TV, where the common place "white" subtitle can be blinding at times. The only solution I have figured out thus far is to play via computer (HDMI) and adjusting the styled fonts manually each time in MPC-HC. This partially defeats the purpose of having the Shield.

Is there an android app that works in a similar fashion? Files are via network on unraid server and shared folder on windows desktop.

This morning I noticed that I am no longer able to cast to my TV from my mobile or PC. It was definitely working a couple of days ago but now the TV simply does not show on the list of available devices. I have another Google TV device at home, a CCwGTV, and it shows correctly.

There have been no changes in configuration that could possibly relate to this: I moved a few input around earlier in the week and changed the idle off timer yesterday. There have been no changes to my home network.

Any clues on where to look? I have already checked the Chromecast app and it's installed. I've cleaned cache and data just in case. I have obviously restarted the TV several times.

Help?

I recently got a new Hisense U6G Android TV for my living room but I prefer the newer Google TV interface so I plugged it into it.

I had an extra Chromecast that I used with a Roku OS TV in my room and turning on and off the TV and switching inputs with the Chromecast remote was no problem. I could even set the default input to my Chromecast so when I turn on the tv with the Chromecast remote, it immediately jumps to the CC input.

But with my Android TV I tried programming the CC remote to switch inputs but it only pops up the input menu and when I hit the input button, it only highlights it but I can't actually select any inputs.

Also, is there any way Android TVs can default to a certain input upon turning it on?

I recently got a Wemax Dice projector with AndroidTV 9.0 but I'm starting to get a little ticked off by the homescreen ads and limitations of the interface. I had hoped that there was a little more freedom in the Android os than you see in other smart TVs, but at the moment it feels awful to have to scroll past a disney+ advert in order to do anything.

Are there any secondary, less intrusive operating systems? Or at the very least a better way to customize the home screen? I'm *this* close to just making a raspberry pi that runs Kodi and relegating this projector to full time HDMI duty.

Has anyone managed to set external player for plex on their androidtv? The tv UI removes the option but on the mobile/tablet UI the option is there. Since the apk is all-in-one, I suppose if we could somehow trigger the app to run in mobile UI (like some other all-in-one apps) set the external player and use it in tv ui? Thoughts?
