Casting stopped working on a Sony X90J

This morning I noticed that I am no longer able to cast to my TV from my mobile or PC. It was definitely working a couple of days ago but now the TV simply does not show on the list of available devices. I have another Google TV device at home, a CCwGTV, and it shows correctly.

There have been no changes in configuration that could possibly relate to this: I moved a few input around earlier in the week and changed the idle off timer yesterday. There have been no changes to my home network.

Any clues on where to look? I have already checked the Chromecast app and it's installed. I've cleaned cache and data just in case. I have obviously restarted the TV several times.

I don't have any suggestions for your specific TV but I can say that I have the same issue with my TCL R646 right now. TV has not shown up for casting in the last week or so. Before that, the TV was available for a few weeks. Prior to that, it disappeared around the time the Google Home app got updated but corrected itself a few days later. To sum up, maybe there is another Google issue affecting some TV's.

I got my casting working again. You can try and see if it helps. In Settings, go to Apps and scroll down to System Apps and click. Now scroll down to the Chromecast Built-in app. Clear app data and then click to uninstall updates. Now open Playstore. You should see a pending update for the Chromecast app. Install it and you should see the cast available again.
