How Do I Legitimately Screen Mirror on Android?

by X--Phoenix--X

I have a Samsung Galaxy A21 and an Onn Roku TV and I want to screen mirror but I can't actually find ways to do so.

The only things that I could find are play store apps that make you have to go into the app itself, go to the browser and go on whatever I'm watching, click a play button, connect to the app on the TV then it plays, back out then repeat the entire process.

I don't think I can select an option on my phone to screen mirror and the process is pretty inefficient, so if anyone has any apps, apks or ANYTHING please let me know, if u have to please send me to other sub reddit that might be able to help.

Install Google Home and see if you can add the Roku to it. Should have the option to cast screen from Google Home.

Ok, when you first start the app it should log you in with your google account. From there, set up a new home, providing your location. Once you have that, you can create a Room and add a device. Since it's not a Google device, after you hit the add button (big plus sign). You will see the option "works with Google". Scroll down to the Roku button. From there you can log in, probably need some Roku credentials (same as the account on your device) and give Google access to it.

This guy the first part shows how he sets up Google home app. He's using a laptop but it is the same process. https://youtu.be/upbFfrVMtHA

Ok came across this https://streamersworld.com/cast-android-roku/

Looks like you need to enable casting from the Roku settings on the tv!

Oh boy yep. A21s doesn't support mirroring. This guy has a work around by using the mobile hotspot on the phone and connecting the tv to the hotspot. https://youtu.be/OBPv4wM0u9Y
