I want to buy a Mi Box S for an old 1080p Bravia. Most reviews for it seems to be that it's great at 1080p but isn't fast enough for 4K. is that pretty accurate? I have a few Mi devices and they are all outstanding, but some reviewers call the Mi Box the worst Mi product...

I just want to connect a usb drive for movies, some Netflix and YouTube. does prime work? might also setup a plex server. They both have a 2x2 MIMO chip so connectivity should be similar?

Google products longevity is a worry about the Nexus player. Also have a google music account are either supported?

are there better sub-100$ 1080p options? I'm in Europe if that matters.

I got an Android TV, Philips 50PUS7304. The remote is terrible (no backlight, no kb, no mouse).

I see Minix Neo series (A2) recommended all over the internet as THE air mouse/kb for android TV.

I need pointer, kb and voice. So A2/A3 would be my picks, not the lite versions.

On their website, they only officially support it with their own box.

I recognize the difference between official support, and actually working. I am only interested if it is actually working. According to reviews it should, but not sure if reviews are done with the Minix boxes, or just the remote.

Also, do normally all apps support the air mice?

I've seen some posts that some (Netflix?) don't support all mice (mouse click is mapped wrong or smthng)?

Which forms of HDR are confirmed for the 2019 Shield Pro? I know that DV is confirmed. Anything on HDR10+ from Samsung/Amazon or HLG?

And regarding the TrueHD Dolby Atmos, would it work when playing either mkvs or streaming from Netflix or Amazon prime with a Samsung Soundbar HW-Q90R? The soundbar is Atmos compatible and has DTS:X and TrueHD decoding capabilities.

I have a Philips OLED804, and the only major problem I have with it is that any surround sound coming from it going to the AV Receiver (through ARC) has a noticeable delay. Anything, from consoles to apps have that delay. If I plug directly on the AV receiver, there is no delay. I tried pretty much any settings combination on the TV and on the receiver, I tried outputting sound to optical, but it's the same. The audio is always delayed... What do?

Using Mi Box S with stock ATV Launcher. Is there any better looking launcher than that. Please don't suggest Side Launcher as it's not good as fas the looks go!

There seem to be a bug in Google Play Store when purchasing Plus version in PVR Live and possibly other apps as well. This applies to Android TV devices, not sure if regular Android devices are affected.

Here's a workaround:

Open "Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Store". Click "Clean data" and "Clean cache".

If you already purchased PVR Live Plus, the Plus features should be activated the next time you open PVR Live after this procedure.

Well, title says it. I have figured out how to make it cast from my phone to the TV, which is fine, but I just paid for a TV and due to Google and Amazon arguing or whatever, I would like to know if there is a way to side load and actually use the TV that cost me money? Not coming up with a clear answer in my google-fu.

I recently bought a 4K TV, and the UI was unusually slow. Like laggy, then I tried downloading YouTube and tried playing 4K video but under 'Quality' the maximum supported resolution is 720p60. Now Im wondering whether this TV really even is 4k. How can I determine if it's 4K, like a test or something.

I side loaded GTA SA on my Android TV and as the game supports game pad I can play it easily. The games is not listed in play store for Android TV. Can we make a list of good games which have game pad support but not listed in play store for Android TV? I am specifically looking for big open world and FPS games both with multiplayer and single player support.

I brought the VU Premium android 43 Inch 4K TV 43-OA, This TV has the best panel in budget segment, Its a VA panel (deep black levels ) with good brightness and great static contrast ratio. Most budget TVs lack good brightness and contrast ratio. Build quality feels good according to price and coming to sound output it decent, I have seen better in this price range. Remote quality feels very very cheap.

Note : Netflix app didn't come pre-installed (but available in play store) and Amazon prime video is not available in play store. Although I side loaded amazon prime video oreo tv and other apps. Opening netflix app gives a popup everytime which says "Warning This device is not optimized for Netflix(-14)" If you click ok it goes away.

Here are the problems I am facing :

While playing any content from any OTT apps in 4K, 1080p the video quality is like RAW footage of a live video. There is no lag whats so ever but videos look very RAW.

I specially brought this tv to watch Netflix, prime video and live tv using oreo tv app. But due to this issue it doesn't feel like I am watching a movie or any tv series. Everything feels like a RAW unprocessed video. It feels really weird while watching like this.

secondary issue, while playing videos in YouTube sometime it video freezes (The RAW video effect is present here too)

Although Flipkart site say 43 OA with cricket mode, The model I received doesn't actually have cricket mode. (Not a big deal at all)

I have a Nvidia Shield so I’m running the real Android. I noticed a couple months back I had a couple apps that were perpetually waiting to update. I deleted them, but they returned the next day with the updating bar below them. If I clicked on them, the app wasn’t available. So I had to download and install them, then delete. However, they returned once again. If I go in the settings they are not listed under apps. I guess I can just leave them. I wasn’t using them anyway. Just so very odd.

Right now my plex / Netflix setup is a pc with HDMI to the tv, optical to the surround sound system.

The tv has optical out for pass through audio, but only does stereo.

I'd rather not buy a new tv. But I'm looking to just get a an android tv than continue using this pc. It's big, loud, the plex interface keeps getting worse.

I've got a harmony remote, so Bluetooth or IR support would also be nice.

Does something like this exist? I'm honestly not too sure what to even look for. I've seen tv's with optical and toslink, or spdif, and 3.5 to whatever. I'm not really sure about all the details, I just want something that connects to my cheap Samsung home theater box with an optical cable.

Pandora opens to grey, sometimes the blue title screen, hangs for abt a minute, then crashes to home screen. Cleared data, cache, re installed, restarted tv, all short of factory resetting entire tv. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, a few questions about the resolution and color space settings. If I choose auto resolution it defaults to 720p60hz. Why is that? When I then choose 2160p60hz the only 10bit color space option I have is YCbCr420. The rest is 8bit. When I change to 2160p30hz I get YCbCR444 10bit or RGB 10bit. So what should I do? I noticed when running 8bit that there is a lot of banding. Is YCbCr420 10 bit enough? For example for HDR? Or do I need to trade the framereate for YCbCR444 10 bit? Thanks.
