Mibox S - New update for beta testers (Android Pie) breaks AFR

So tested 3 units so far.

When using Auto Frame Rate(AFR)

with

TiViMate & Plex

As soon it uses AFR, black screen will occur.

It will come with black screen and show 2 weird resolutions, I captured it on team-viewer.

Only solution is to reboot device from remote or power plug, native-normal resolutions will return 720/1080p.

Can other test for this issue?

Works brilliant on Android 8.0/8.1

Yeah, happens with KODI also. Had to disable AFR in it to make it useable again.

Already reported it in the FB group...let's hope next beta brings a fix.

Is anyone surprised???

This is pretty typical in the long and checkered history of Xiaomi MiBox updates.

Usual scenario is 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Next build will fix this and introduce other glitches.

Should have stayed with Oreo 8.1 last build......

Par for the course considering that the same developers have been involved for past 3 years+.
