I just bought onn tv box. I have problems with wi-fi connection. When I connected wi-fi, then it's automatically disconnects after 5-10 minutes and shows connected no internet, or limited internet. This problem happens when I turn off device and then when I open it too. What's is the problem? My router is TP-Link TL-WR840N V2.0. It only supports 2.4ghz connection. Is that device's problem or my old router which is not supports 5ghz?

It's simple: I've got a Mi Box, a Samsung TV without HDMI CEC and a Soundbar. I want one single remote for all of them. Why is this so hard to find?

I've found the G20 remote that learns IR keys and does bluetooth. Great! But it does not for volume keys. Also, it's a "keyboard" and my bad TV app does not recognize "Enter" that the OK button sends as an OK press. Why? I was so close...

Closest to this functionality I've come was with a Fire TV remote. Set up on Fire TV and then paired with Android. Now if I would just change the Soundbar volume instead of the TV volume, it would be perfect, but unfortunately, you can't select different devices for the buttons...

Does no one else have this usecase? What happened to universal remotes? Why don't they incorporate Bluetooth?

I did gave a shot at aberto Sonos but unfortunately it didn work out.

Has anyone able to successfully control the TV via Echo ?

So after a firmware update a few hours ago my PhilipsTV 65PUS7956/12 decided it didn't want any wifi anymore. It keeps flicking off the wifi option after a few seconds every time I turn it on. Tried factory resetting, rebooting, powercord out, resetting router and everything else. Feels like I tried it all.

Anyone hade this problem before? And do anyone know how I can solve it, because it's driving me nuts. Had the tv for a couple of months and it feels like there is nothing but trouble with it.

Hey does anyone know how to screen mirror any website that has a video player to full screen. Anytime I try to fullscreen ANY site(YouTube, Vimeo,daily motion, wcostream,’piratey sites”,etc, more.)(Wont go into more detail because I don’t want to break the piracy rules) it just stays in black and loads forever. (Have left it load for hours, dosen’t work)Im using the regular option (didn’t install anything) (the only thing I did was change a setting to allow mirroring then hit mirror screen on my iPad, put a code and about done).

Eventhough when I exit full screen I can watch the video.

Can somebody please help me.Don’t even know if I used the right flair. Lmao.

(I know you can use YouTube in the tv, but I want to use other sites as I’ve mentioned)

Just read the rules a bit I think it’s an android tv or smart tv if you want to call it that, I don’t know why it supports apple, and YES it does support android phones/devices.

I have a hisense u6g. I have been using my xbox series x to watch netflix. For some odd reason, vision doesn't work when using netflix in the tv ui. But apple tv app from the ui plays vision fine.

I want to limit my xsx for gaming only. And I always hear its best to disable internet on tvs & get a box. So i'm looking for one now.

Seems like its a tie between the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K & Mecool km2. Leaning to the km2 but idk if it supports vision. The xaomi does but has no card slot for expansion. I'm sure more do support vision but I am not aware of others. Besides nvidia sheild/pro which i'm not interested in. Also thought about getting a raspberry pi 4 model b 8gb but the price is jacked & seems to go out of stock pretty quick still.

I'm trying to find a way to use my phone as a mouse / keyboard for my cheap android tv box without having to buy a physical keyboard. I just need to type in long urls and stuff like that instead of using the dame remote. I see apps in the store for using the phone as a remote to control it like the standard remote but not to use as a keyboard mouse at the system level. Thanks!

I got a weird problem with my AndroidTV Stick (Epson STI 6110). It generally works great but when I play a 5.1 video file using the VLC media player, AndroidTV loses the ability to play 2.0 sound. That goes for any app as well as the menu and also VLC itself. 5.1 files still play normally however.

So far I was only able to resolve that problem by rebooting the device. Both AndroidTV as well as the VLC app are fully updated.

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this since it is kinda annoying? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Trying to replace my TCL tv that the LEDs died in. In 2022 is it worth purchasing Android TV or upgrade to Google TV? I've heard some downsides of Google TV being laggy, but currently I don't know the difference between the two or if they'd be merged together at some point.

I need to play videos using usb flash drive

My TV has been slowly dying (the screen turnt on only 30 seconds after the start, sometimes bright vertical line through the display), and finally gave up the ghost. Actually everything seems to work, but the screen stays black (only with some backlight spots). As for many others, it happened right after the warranty expired.
I don't think getting it repaired is a reasonable expense (if possible at all). But to get rid of it, I would try to sell it for a symbolic price. But for this I have to hard reset it, because it's logged in to my account, there are apps etc. With no screen I barely can use the remote control, and there's no any pin button to reset it.
Does anyone know how could I make it? Thanks a lot in advance.

My parents have a 2019 Sony Android TV with youview. Since the start of the year itv hub hasn't worked, and weve just found out youview have removed it from some of their devices but they say Sony TVs are unaffected. The TV is up to date according to the software update in settings.

Has anyone encountered this and worked around it? We have a Philips Android TV with Freeview play that still works fine with ITV

I recently switched from an Apple TV to a Google TV. Sometimes on its on and sometimes after I turn off the TV and Google TV with the remote the TV stops working.

It can’t be turned on, even from the button on the TV. I have to disconnect the TV from the power cable and start over.

I want to keep this thing over Apple TV but if I can’t fix this, my wife is going to throw it out a window.

Thoughts?

Somehow my JVC TV has decided to just go into "Factory Mode" in the top left with a message, "please scan channels" in the middle.

I have tried turning off at the wall and holding the select button on the TV. then turning back on to force a reset, as well as holding several different combinations on the remote... with no success.

Anyone got any suggestions? The TV only has "one button" which is a selector type button like a ball mouse on a laptop if anyone remembers them...

I have a problem with my philips android tv. I reset the system, then I couldn't login into my google account, but I solved the problem. BUT another problem showed up, which is I couldn't find IPTV Smarters on google play. My current android sysytem is QM152E, and I have the latest version (2018).

I checked on Philips website, and I found that I have the latest version for my TV model.

So, How to upgrade the system and change it from QM152E to a new system?

Because, if my current system from 2018, then many apps will disappear now or later, so the TV will be useless.

Sound is fine with everything else. My daughter has to reboot her TV after watching an episode on Netflix to get sound for the next episode. No issues with Prime, Disney Plus etc.

I have to use my Xbox to get surround sound. The android tv app doesn’t support it. Why? Just curious.

Edit: or could it be that my surround sound system doesn’t support Dolby digital plus and just regular Dolby digital?

Today, AMD released their new AMD Driver, with one of the sellers being AMD Link update. So I updated my drivers with my 6700XT, turned on my nvidia Shield TV, updated the app, and I get unbearable performance. AMD Link application works pretty much flawlessly on my phone though. So I started investigating. Turns out, that decoding delay on shield is 10 times that it is on my phone, Samsung Galaxy S10+. So under 10ms vs over 100ms. I don't think my phone is that much more powerful, so it doesn't make any sense to me. I'd guess its caused by AMD Link TV application being software accelerated, rather than hardware.

But what I wanted to ask is, could someone, with AMD GPU try it out on their non Shield TV, Android TV. So is the issue Shield TV specific, or is the whole application broken.

Roku has ripped out sound leveling and night mode options from most TV's with built-in Roku's in a an attempt to sell more soundbar products, which will magically re-enable those options on the TV interfaces that used to be native. Not ironically, , The Roku Channel (the whole lineup from what I can tell) is the most obnoxious - commercials are 75% higher than the programming itself.

So KMA, Roku. They're dead to me.

Do any of the Android TV's or box/dongles have a visible/docuemntable option/feature for sound leveling? I do not "do" loud sounds. The Stones concert last month was almost perfect from 11 miles away :-)

I don't see any mention of it for android TV sets or for add on boxes, just epnty of articles about how to change the volunme on Android devices. But I also don't see any complaints related the lack of such an option, either. So maybe it's all doing its thing enabled and not apparent to the users. AFAICT, it's all software-based regar4dles of audio output method protocol/hardware or built in speakers.

OTOH, youtube (and Widows in general) sucks at volume changes from one stream to another, and so are Android smart phones doing stuff other than youtube. And Google i pretty progrssive when it come to "Lusers don't need options, we'll make up their minds for them".

I'll probabkly drop the $20 on the Onn 4K thing in the next few days. But I don't expect that to be representitive of other probably more quality devices - just to touch and feel the Android TV interface.

Hi I have a problem with my tv if I could describe it it would be like playing a low frame rate on a game the problem mostly happens when using the plex app does anyone know how to fix this?

Just bought our first TV. It is a TCL series 5 with a google OS. When I try to log into Disney plus it gives me error 83. All other apps seem to work fine. So far I have reinstalled Disney plus twice. Reset the tv. Unplugged it and my router. Tried logging in while connected to a hotspot. I spent a while on tech support and neither Disney or TCL had any fixes. Does anyone have any ideas or should I return the tv and try a different brand?

I'm trying to paste my Kodi profile/user data into my newly acquired Shield tube. However it tells me I don't have permission - I'm running 9.0.1/Android 11. I used ES File Explorer (I know its total spam), it has a straight forward FTP set up that I can access from windows file explorer and paste the Kodi User Data but it won't allow me (Android>Data>.

I was easily able to pull the data from my previous Android TV (I believe running android 9). I'm guessing the new updates tightened up permissions/security?
