I have tried many things, such as factory reset. But I just can't get it to work. What's more frustrating is our phones and pc work. Can someone give me some tips for this?

Hi, i'm looking for an Android TV box or cheap mini PC which will play 4k HDR 10 bit bluray remux over network / nas

So far i've tried the NVIDIA sheild tube, 4k FIRE TV 2019, latest google TV stick, Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra using dex, all of which play the movie but drop frames or have occasional stuttering or buffering.

My Surface pro 7 and my occulous quest 2 play the same movies over the network with no issues so I now its not my network, i'm guessing the arm devices i'm using just arent powerful enough.

Intel nuc are too expensive, looking for something sub £100 ideally.

My Chromecast with GoogleTV suddenly stopped working after uninstalling an app. It suddenly froze and eventually switched off, never to turn on again. I unplugged it, change HDMI ports, checked power supply etc and I still can even get it to light up. Help.

Every time i start a movie on a Popcorn apk it causes problems to my router and i need to restart it. Problems start when downloading of movie is finished. Its very frustrating for me and for other family members because every time i start to watch a movie they come to my room and say "do you again watch movies? ". Is there anyone with same problem and is there any way to fix this. Even when i use different router it still causes problems to the major one.

I am trying to redirect DNS requests from certain apps on my shield tv to a DNS server that I pay for that then sets the region of that request for me. I have successfully redirected many of the streaming services to this special DNS server, but now I want to redirect whichever app or request that does the region checking to that special DNS server too, so that I can unlock the latest android tv home screen that is currently only available in select parts of the world.

I've recently run into a problem with a number of apps (so far Facebook Watch and TNT) where I go through the process of signing in with my tv provider/account through my phone, putting in the authentication code, getting feedback that it was successful on my phone and then nothing happening on my TV. If it was just one new app I'd probably ignore it but I have 2 that previously worked for years with out issue. Both Facebook and TNT won't acknowledge a successful login. I've already tried uninstalling, restarting the TV and reinstalling. Any other suggestions?

Is there a way to store video files directly on Chromecast or Google TV (or similar device) without using an external hub with Power Delivery? I'm trying to find a way where I don't have to cast live from my device.

Used to have the Android TV remote on my homescreen to quickly launch it. With Android 12, the app no longer works and you need to launch Google TV first, then click the remote button, OR use a quicksettings tile. Both involve more steps than just launching straight from the homescreen.

I tried adding each activity exposed by the Google TV app as a shortcut to my homescreen using Nova Launcher, but none of them link directly to the remote. Also looked for an app that can add system quicksettings tiles to the homescreen, but couldn't find any that would work without root.

Any ideas on how to get a link to the remote right on the homescreen?

Edit: If anyone comes across this in the future, it appears this is impossible without root at the moment. I used ADB to expose the activity name being called when the new Android TV remote is opened. Then, to confirm that this was the correct activity, I tried to launch it using ADB. But it gives a permissions error when attempting to launch, because I guess the ATV remote is not a publicly accessible activity within the Google TV app. With root you could launch this activity, but without root you are limited to the publicly exposed activities in the app.

Hello all, im considering building up the following scenario for my home:

an AndroidTV box connected to a projector via HDMI

the projector and the android TV box will be on the ceiling (where there is a power plug)

my main concer is about audio, i have a Bose soundtouch wireless speaker that supports only AirPlay, and i was thinking if there is a solution to route the audio from the Android TV box to the speaker

(i can connect it with a cable, but will be a long one in the room!)

I own a Sony KD55XH90 with Android TV and I use the Molotov app to watch TV. The thing is, the app is not usable with the numeric buttons of my remote. When I press "1" for exemple it switches to the integrated TV player, which in my case isn't plugged on anything.

Is there a way to change this default TV Player to something like molotov, map the numeric button of my remote to an app, or anything like that?

I don't want to plug anything to my TV since it can do everything I want and I don't want to duplicate features.

The free ones don't have a tv app and don't have workaround for them with having remote only. Windscribe not working either

I've been using the Sky EVO hybrid Cable/Android TV box since we swap the old cable box free of charge. And I'm amazed with it's features from the streaming apps, to the improved tv guide. And playing it in 4k like YouTube is amazing even for a full HD tv. I have another tv upstairs there, I have an old HD cable box and a MiTV stick. The MiTV stick is now one year's right now and it's still in good condition, I still watch YouTube and other streaming apps though it's not 4k. I also watch cable because of sports like racing events. I'm now thinking of adding another SkyEvo box upstairs but it's too hard to leave my MiTV stick behind because some of the apps like Netflix doesn't support on sky EVO box. But also I love the 4k support of the box I love the experience of watching in 4k UHD. And I know it's complicated to switch between two HDMI inputs instead of using one device for your tv. Is the MiTV stick still better? BTW: SkyCable is the Philippines Pay TV provider not be confused with Sky in Europe.

My new TV App (Yallo TV) doesn't close after hitting the home button (house). My TV is a Philipps.

So if I go to the main menu and open for example Netflix, the tv app still runs in the background.

I search for a way to have the app turned off easily without going to some menus and making 5 clicks just to turn off the app. Keeping the home button pressed will only open Philipps App drawer.

I tried also developer settings but there is nothing helpful.

Any ideas welcome.

I'd like to buy it with integrated Chromecast and Google TV, but when I'm going looking in internet for models with Google TV, i can find only televions with Android TV integrated (which I don't know if it means that it will eventually be updated to Google TV). I have a mecool km3 box on which I have Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, etc. Ever since I got it, it has buffered to the point of making things pretty much unwatchable. I have it connected via Ethernet and have tested the cable on a laptop with results consistently around 500mb/s.

When testing the internet speed on multiple sites/apps on the box, it shows my speed around 4mb/s download and less than 1 upload. However, when I test it on fast.com (which I guess is run by Netflix) it shows my speed at 500mb/s. I have retested with the same results every time. This makes me think the box is getting the full speed but something is slowing it down to 1/100th of the speed when using other speed test sites/apps.

Has anyone else had these issues? Any ideas on how to fix it? I asked a friend of mine who (supposedly) knows what he is talking about and he said to try a VPN because ISPs will purposely throttle certain devices. I gave that a shot and got roughly the same results.

I miss the frame by frame slow motion capability of TiVo. Are there any hacks that can get it for me on my Sony Bravia with Google TV?
