TV App still playing in the background

Hi everyone,

My new TV App (Yallo TV) doesn't close after hitting the home button (house). My TV is a Philipps.

So if I go to the main menu and open for example Netflix, the tv app still runs in the background.

I search for a way to have the app turned off easily without going to some menus and making 5 clicks just to turn off the app. Keeping the home button pressed will only open Philipps App drawer.

I tried also developer settings but there is nothing helpful.

Any ideas welcome.

I have the same problem with VLC sometimes. Look for a kill button on your main menu to close all apps. If you don't have that get a mini wireless keyboard, much easier to close apps, just a couple of button presses.

There is a free Androidtv app "Background Apps & Process" to see what is open and to force close apps manually.

There is a Paid app to program a remote button to open a custom RECENTS window and switch or close apps:

There are other apps like "ButtonMapper" that can program a remote button long-press to "Force-Close Foreground App."

Some mobile apps like "Greenify" can be sideloaded to Androidtv and activated with ButtonMapper assigning a button shortcut to Hibernate apps.
