budget TV with integrated Google TV

by bebop_korsakoff

Hello, I need to buy a couple of budget TV, one 43" and a 23" for my mother. I'd like to buy it with integrated Chromecast and Google TV, but when I'm going looking in internet for models with Google TV, i can find only televions with Android TV integrated (which I don't know if it means that it will eventually be updated to Google TV). Can you point me to some website with said list? Thanks

Simply buy the Chromecast with Google TV and put it on the a simple TV. Always do this. Nothing other

Right now the Google TV UI only exists on certain Sony and TCL sets, everything else has Android TV Discover UI, which in my opinion is better than Google TV and will run better on a budget device. So the choice Googl TV UI is a much bigger and more expensive tv or get any TV and add a Chromecast with Google TV.

Don't buy a smart TV. Combining devices is never smart. Google TV dongles are cheap.

android tv /google tv are the same thing. The UI is a little different (two new tabs, lot more advertising in google tv), but they work the same. The "Home" screen on my Nvidia Shield looks the exact same as I did when it was using the older interface with the addition of a "Discopver" and an "apps" tab at the top. So if you can find a really good tv with android tv, don't hesitate just because it's not "Google TV". It is just a branding change in name only, and a bit of UI tweaking. For that matter, I wouldn't be surprised if they are already updated to Google TV.
