Looking for this as well. It may be possible to assign a button via button mapper starting an adb shell command to change to an HDMI port for example. In developer options network debugging may be enabled too. But I never got it working.
u/Gregib u/BPonthemove I got the app "Button Mapper" from Google Play last night to remap the escape button on a mini keyboard I wanted to use on my Philips Google TV. Worked like a charm. Supposed to work for remotes, keyboards, etc.
