I'm searching for a box which is like a Shield TV, but with HDR on youtube working.

So Dolby Vision + processing (to Dolby MAT 2.0 or so) or passthrough for TrueHD with Atmos and maybe DTS:X (not mandatory but nice to have)

+ Support for either VP9 Profile 2 and/or AV1

I side loaded FuboTV on my Chromecast. Was able to install it, and it runs when I open the app. But the app crashes the moment I try to play a video.

I side loaded other apps, but I only encountered this problem with FuboTV. Any suggestions on how to fix this. Thanks.

When I try to connect my tv to the wifi, there's no "enter" after I type the password. How do i solve this? I can only connect if i remove my wifi's password

I'm currently using an old Samsung TV from the 3D era that doesn't support HDMI-CEC. My current streaming solution uses a Roku Stick that is starting to fail (image will randomly go black for a second or so, and the TV reacts as if input was cut and restored). One of the things I like about the Roku is that the remote has an IR blaster to control the TV volume and turn it on and off.
I was considering replacing the Roku with a Xiaomi Stick 4k, but unlike the ccwgtv, no reviewer seems to mention if the remote has or doesn't have an IR blaster to control the TV directly.
On a review I saw a screen on the initial setup that offered to setup TV control, but the wording of the screen is a bit ambiguos and didn't really make it clear if it was through IR or HDMI-CEC.
Can anyone who have it confirm if the remote really does have IR or not?

I used to have the option to switch accounts in the YT app itself. But for some reason now YouTube prompts the Google TV account selector instead, and it doesn't show any other secondary accounts already logged on the device (maybe because I don't have the new Multiple Profile support yet?).

UPDATE: I can switch now, seems like my CCwGTV got Multiple Profiles and it picks up other accounts. But my Realme TV Stick still doesn't have it. I hope these are signs that it will roll out to everyone.

In the Audio Settings, Does it Have DoLby Audio RF Mode and Line Mode?

I'm pLanning to Buy One if it has those Audio Settings in it. I want the RF mode so that when watching on my TCL 4K Android TV using its InternaL Speakers (2 ChanneLs, L R) I'm gonna hear the DiaLog and won't baby sit the remote. 😂

RF Mode - Compresses the Dynamic Range so that there is not as much difference between the softest and loudest sounds. It's good for listening when you want the volume turned down, but still want to be able to hear the quiet parts.

Line Mode - Is relatively Light Dynamic Range Compression and is typically used on decoders with six- or two-channel line-level outputs.

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered.

What’s the deal with the volume slider? Besides the ads, this is my biggest peeve. It’s thick, opaque, and ridiculously bright. If I bump the volume up during a dark scene, in my darkened living room, it can completely ruin the immersion.

Is there any way to modify it?

I recently purchased a MiBox S 4K and have a problem I can't seem to solve. Although I'm able to watch 4k content through YouTube app, I can't watch them on Netflix (on which I am a 4k subscriber) and Disney - and who knows, maybe other streaming services.

It just displays HD icons on those two apps. I have changed my HDMI EDID settings to 2.0 and HDR plus 5.1 also showed but still no 4K. I bought a 2.1 HDMI cable and 4K icons showed momentarily but disappeared again.

My internet connection is 100mbps so I don't think it has anything to do with internet speed. The TV's (it's a Grundig 4K GDU 7900B, by the way) own smart TV system is able to display 4K icons on Netflix. So the problem has to lie with the HDMI ports or the MiBox itself.

I have tried everything. I don't use any soundbar or other bluetooth systems whatsoever - I have seen in a couple of posts in which people were able to solve it by disconnecting their bluetooth sound systems. I have three HDMI ports and I've tried each one of them to no avail. I have unplugged all HDMI ports and restarted my TV, again with nothing to show.

I'm just out of ideas. Is there any solution to this or should I give up and be content with 1080p on those two apps?

I just rooted an Onn UHD box from Walmart using Magisk and now I'm worried that I'll lose root during the next OTA update. Do I need to be worried, or will either A: root remain, or B: OTA updates will fail? The last update was in February so I'm nervous a new one will strike at any moment.

Hello, I bought my Mi Box S in march and works "perfectly" fine (if we won't include the main screen, which is buggy) on android 9. I bought the device knowing it was Android 11. I reached out to xiaomi support and they said that I could upgrade it WITHOUT TELLING ME HOW TO!! Please someone help me, because it's really bugging me. PLEASE!

I would love to be able to adjust the backlight on the fly instead of clicking 4 different buttons and a slider to adjust it. Remapping the channel buttons seems like the best way, but no app I've tried can do this. Any thoughts?

I went to watch some videos the other day and noticed that my smart tube app, which has been working fine for the past few months, has suddenly stopped loading anything. The Home Screen just shows a black screen with the loading animation. And all the screens are like this.

I have tried rebooting my chromecast with google tv, I’ve tried reinstalling the app, I’ve tried switching to the beta branch, I’ve tried clearing the app data. I even fully factory reset my google tv, but still no luck :(

The stock YouTube app works just fine, so it’s not my internet nor my connection to YouTube severs. Is the api been changed? Is anyone else experiencing this? While I’ve heard people on this sub having similar issues, they were resolved with the steps I tried above. I’m really stumped by this.

I have a Mi Box S and my friend was over here some days ago and his kid played with the remote and now it is lost. I have google for ways to find it again and found about the Wunderfind and Lightblue apps. It is apps that can pick up bluetooth signal. I have tried both of those but I can't find any signal of the remote. I can't either find a signal from my other bluetooth remotes. So was just wondering if anyone have ever tried those apps? If so how can I make them show my remotes?

My onn box has this issue where the volume drops to a lower level intermittently. Sometimes it is doing this constantly. Any fixes or ideas for remedying this?

Looking to cut the cord on DirecTv. Looking at alternatives. One problem: my wife is not at all tech savvy. So I want a interface that uses a remote where the channel number buttons work as-if we still have cable.
I'm considering Directv Stream because of this, as you can get a Directv Stream Box that has a familiar remote that apparently works identical to the regular remote.

But, they want $120 for each Stream box 😣

So I'm looking at Android TV boxes. Many come with remotes but I can find very little information on the remote, other than that some are very "clunky" and break easily. I would hope that the remote has a Android App that allows you to map the remote, so I could map 'remote channel 02 - play <whatever service><specific stream>'.

Does anyone here have experience with this? I'd like to know before I plunk down coin on a box that does not do what I need it to do (which I've done in the past 🙄).
