TV controls through IR on xiaomi tv stick 4k

by chupitoelpame

I'm currently using an old Samsung TV from the 3D era that doesn't support HDMI-CEC. My current streaming solution uses a Roku Stick that is starting to fail (image will randomly go black for a second or so, and the TV reacts as if input was cut and restored). One of the things I like about the Roku is that the remote has an IR blaster to control the TV volume and turn it on and off.
I was considering replacing the Roku with a Xiaomi Stick 4k, but unlike the ccwgtv, no reviewer seems to mention if the remote has or doesn't have an IR blaster to control the TV directly.
On a review I saw a screen on the initial setup that offered to setup TV control, but the wording of the screen is a bit ambiguos and didn't really make it clear if it was through IR or HDMI-CEC.
Can anyone who have it confirm if the remote really does have IR or not?

I have an old tv like you and a Xiaomi stick 4k. The remote has IR but the software to set it up is crap. I get sound from a sound bar. I can't configure both devices.

So I have to chose between setting it up with the soundbar to control the volume or with the TV so that it turns on when I press power.

I know IR is old tech but I'm pretty disappointed that my 75€ new stick half asses something my previous 35€ Firestick did just fine.

No IR.
