The Fire Stick 4k is on sale again and my aging Chromecast v1 is having a lot of stuttering issues on Youtube (know problem and Google is not giving this device any updates anymore). I'm looking for a cheap replacement that can play Youtube, Netflix and that's pretty much it.

Is the interface really that bad? I saw a bunch of posts about this and of course the ads are kinda off putting... What's your take on this?

I noticed when my Bravia is connected via lan I can wake it via the Android TV app, but not when on wifi. Do I really need wake on lan enabled on my router?

Hey y'all! I wanted to clarify something before buying an AndroidTV.

I want to watch a stream (inside the browser, for example, a stream of a NFL game) in my old ass TV. My first possibily is to mirror the stream from my phone. The problem is, do I get a video-sound delay if I connect my wireless earphones to either the phone or AndroidTV?

The other possibility is to download a browser and run the stream directly in the AndroidTV, and then connect the earphones to it, so there's no delay. Is this somewhat possible?

I'm getting a glitch where whenever I watch anything on Hulu it stutters but the audio continues...anyone got any solution to this issue?

Last week, my MI BOX S was updated to Android 9 (Pie) and since then Hulu seems to be broken. The ADs play just fine, but the video freezes every few seconds, while the Audio keeps running. I contacted Hulu through Chat support & they informed that it was a known issue, but there wasn't any ETA.

Anyone else facing this issue with Hulu in Android 9 ?

Recently I got an old TV with SCART, A/V and VGA connection for free. I wanna make it closer to today's standarts and plan to buy Mi Box because its inexpensive, and connect via VGA to HDMI adapter. My main purpose for it is to Chromecast it through Twitch, Youtube, watch some other content on Kodi and Plex, and sideload some emulators and play games with DS4 controller.

My main question is, how good is it now and is it worth buying? Fire Stick is out of question since it doesnt ship to where I live.

Hi there. I'm a bit frustrated. I'm decent on knowledge and good when it comes to troubleshooting and work arounds but getting tired of my 80$ Chinese 4k box. Is it me or it's always crashing and you need to do 2000 work arounds to do a simple thing?

Please. Help me chose. I just want to upgrade my current setup : remote controlled laptop hooked on HDMI to my 4k hdr tv. But since it's an onboard video card and overall old i5 I can't play UHD.

What should I get? Was testing the NvidiaTV but can't download torrents on it. So what you'd do? Download on computer and transfer on SD card?

Just got the new ADT-3 AndroidTV which has a volume up/down button. I assume that means it has an IR Blaster. Any idea how to pair it to my TV?

The update 3.14.0.291972289, Jan 30, 2020 presents the specific problem.

In settings also the Searchable apps section is blank, nothing to select.

Tested devices are Mi Box 3 and Shield TV Pro.

I have a PHILIPS 55OLED854 since black friday.

Of course, what I like is to watch movies in UHD on my beautiful screen. However, this has not always been the perfect experience I would expect. So far, only the internal player, launched via "Network Media" is giving me the best experience. VLC or Kodi either do not work properly, or the image is not as good as with the native player. Even, the native player often stop during playback, or buffer, while the same movies play fine on a PC running VLC on the same LAN (all connected by ethernet).

Would anybody recommend another option? Software?

I put a tv in my daughter's room and wanted to load some of my old purchases on the box and found that they will only install to my phone now. Examples:

What gives? Is there a way around this? The simpler the better. The devices I'm trying to install to are an old Asus Nexus Player and 2017 Shield TV.

I recently bought a HD HomeRun Duo for Europe channels DVT-T/T2 (France). I use it on my international version of the Xiaomi Mi Box 3 running on Oreo firmware (8.0) on official Android TV.

After having everything installed perfectly, I noticed :

• Some micro-stutters on every channels. Is there a way (option for instance) not to have those micro lags ?
• Refresh rate seems not to be 50 Hz (as it is in France), but more 25 Hz... My box is set to 1080p/50Hz in display settings. For sports event it's highly noticable when you switch between the TV cabled vs. the Mi Box using HD HomeRun (cabled, I do not use it with an antenna). So does the HDHR is able to display 1080i/50 Hz channels on a Xiaomi Mi Box (Android TV) ?

So here's the thing: I have a big hard drive with hundreds of folders, some of which contain pictures I want to view on my Sony XF9005 (X900F). It's important that I'm able to browse through the original folder structure on the drive, because otherwise it's just a mess.

The apps I've used so far (the preinstalled album, PhotoGuru, Photo Gallery, Kodi) mostly don't have that or are just unable to display the pictures I want to view. They are often over 30 Mpx, therefore bigger than the native resolution of the TV. That means that the picture is either displayed wrong with horrible digital artifacts), takes forever to load and often the whole app just crashes.

Is there some app that supports folder structures on USB-connected drives and can manage to relatively quickly browse through (and properly downscale) big pictures? My previous slightly cheaper Panasonic smart TV had no problem with that out of the box, so come on, Android has to have something - right?
