Just tried it with the Mi Box S, works surprisingly well. Had to sideload the APK though as it's not on the Play Store for me. Only con is limited games available but it's more than Stadia and can use my existing games at least.
Sounds so much better than stadia. Game streaming has been around for a very long time, seems to only get better but google dropped the ball hard.
No info on if there are more servers? I couldnt touch this when i got my shield tv last year as it seemed there was only north american servers
I was surprised how well it played... I had access to alot of my steam library. I like that you can even tweak the settings like on a PC. Also when you install a game is so fast after that it stays install in your steam account.
I think Stadia was going to be for me from day one but so far I had more fun having access to my steam library, maybe Stadia could offer similar solution?
Even World of Warcraft worked great!!! Though you need a M/K to play but still impressive. You'll get alerts of how much time you have left, I just Re-Logged in bam! Another hour.
Overall seems great but depending on your internet connection is what you experience is going to be.
Likely one of the better write-ups from day one/zero:
Right now, NVIDIA offers a "Free 90-Day Introductory Period" for founders membership. You can probably use that to decide if $5 a month is worth it for you (RTX support, longer play session, less queuing time). If not, just cancel it before trial period runs out.
My biggest beef is games can disappear from supported list suddenly because publisher decides to pull them. Really enjoyed "Quantum Break" and "Heavy Rain" on Shield. Now they are gone.
is it restricted to us only??
Might be a dumb question, but at the $5 level are accessing a stronger streaming PC? Only assumed this because of RTX but they could just be having it disabled for free users.
Hi Eli!
What game platforms work with it besides steam?
Ah, I'll miss the days when I played with a 4-6 hour cap and no waiting times.
It's a pain to start game, especially if you have double authentification, furthermore the latency don't allow to play fps game I have 1gb fiber
You don't have to pay $5 a month. It still has a free-to-use option with 1-hour limit for each play session and probably longer queuing time when server is crowded. It's also available on Android phone/tablet and desktop PC now ( https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4481/~/where-can-i-download-the-geforce-now-app-again%3F ).
