FYI, I am using FuboTV, a mibox S and a Vizio 4k tv (M55, 2017 model) and I am getting the superbowl broadcast in 4k (yes I know it's upscaled) and HLG HDR!!!!

I didn't know the mi box S supported HLG, but I knew some of the vizios did....and was pleasantly surprised when it popped up on the info bar!

I have 4k enabled in all my settings on the fire stick but the superbowl pregame isn't outputting at 4k or HDR. I read an article that the pregame as well as the game will bee displayed in 4k but don't know how to get it to work.

EDIT: I read another post and figured it out for anyone else wondering the same thing, I went into display settings on the firestick and had to set it from auto to always 2160p and under dynamic range settings to always HDR and now it displays correctly, you'll just want to change those settings back after the game.

my Xiaomi Mi Box S has just lost all connectivity - neither BT remote does connect to it, nor it can discover or connect to any WiFi network.

When I plug a WiFi dongle from another remote (Wechip W1) I can control the device, but it obviously doesn't repair the WiFi issue.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Answering possible questions:

- yes, I've tried system reset, no changes,

- the remote itself does work, I'm able to pair it with my phone and operate there.

I'm currently using HDHomeRun prime with the live channels app, however randomly I will be interrupted with Network tuner setup, I know previously I could just disable it in channel sources, but it doesn't show up there now? any thoughts?

I recently bought a 5.1 channel Pyle system that supports Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus. I can get full sound from external equipment, local channels and even Netflix. However, no other app - even YouTube will produce 5.1 audio, for the videos that are encoded with Dolby Digital, which work on my desktop hooked up to the tv.

My TV is a Skyworth Android TV 8 based tv.

I just bought a 55 inch Bravia x950g and from a network, WiFi connectivity perspective this TV is a buggy mess. Is that typical for Android TVs these days, or should I look to replace this thing?

I've tried Puffin TV and two other Android TV Web Browsers. The let me enter a URL, but rather than just using the URL, they go to a google page and search on it.

This is a problem because the URL I want to use is for a machine on the local LAN in my house.

I looked at Puffin TV more closely. It seems to be the way they combine search and URL entry. As I type, it's doing lookups on common website names to shorten your typing. If I start "ya", it gives me shortcuts to yahoo.com. Once I click those, it goes directly to yahoo.com.

If I give it a name only known to my internal DNS, or an IP address, I get google search results. Apparently they only try DNS for names matched with their search lookup. Or, the App has a hardcoded DNS.

I even tried a bit.ly link to my local machine. It works for my laptop browser -- public bit.ly link takes me to internal machine. But with Puffin, I end up with google search results for my internal URL.

Firefox and Silk both work on an old Fire TV box. I am considering sideloading to my Bravia (Android TV).

I have a Philips 50PUS7303 and I wanted to improve the audio quality by buying a 2.1 sound system (Logitech Z623). The only problem that i got, but it's quite huge, is that i can't control the volume with the TV remote. I tried multiple solutions : using the headphone jack output, getting an optical audio converter, but never got any good result. The only way to control the volume as for now is for me to get up and turn the volume button ... which gets old quite quick.

Is there any way to prevent that and control the volume with my TV remote ? I thought there was a "master volume" as on my main PC, but it seems not (which is rather weird tbh)

Ideally I would like to track TV usage time with details of which app or input is being used for how long.

Two kids at home and I want to measure and enforce some reasonable limits on TV time

Any apps to help?

When I got android 9.0 and heard about the webcam thing. I plugged one in (Logitech C170) and apparently it defaults to the mic on the webcam but I had to unplug it and plug it back in and then it didn't detect any mic even the one on the remote. Any help?

So I updated yesterday via ota and now YouTube won’t load for me. Help please..... I uninstalled and reinstalled as well cleared data and cache.

My Mibox is able to cast Youtube videos just fine, but when I try to cast from other apps like "Photos" etc. I simply get an error saying mibox has disconnected. I have tried updating the apps from the playstore and restarting mibox but no luck. I sometimes also get this error with YouTube but a restart normally fixes this. Wondering, is there is a fix?

I've since gone into the Play store and made sure every ATV sub system/service was at the latest version available.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Hulu.

I've rebooted and rebooted and rebooted.

Side note: since the upgrade the device has hung a handful of times requiring i pull power. More often than last release.

Any ideas?

Not sure if this is the right place for this post.

I have a Sony Bravia KD65X8500D.

It no longer responds to tv remotes.

I have tried 3 new remotes all of which operate other tvs just fine.

I am currently using a phone app to control the TV over wifi and am reluctant to do a factory reset resulting in no internet connection.

There is no way I can see to access the menu without a remote.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on what this could be?

I’m hoping it’s not the RF sensor.

Also, I can't get Disney+ on it...

I have three Shields. One in basement, one on 1st floor, and 1 on 2nd floor. The remotes consistently connect to the wrong box. Like I'll be on 1st floor trying to operate that box and like 95% of the time it's operating the basement box. Can anyone help me out?

Does anyone know when a patch will be released for all the bugs on Mi-box after the new Android 9 update?
