Getting 5.1 sound in Mi Box S with old AV Receiver

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a Mi Box S and i have an old AV Receiver without HDMI port.
It's possible to get 5.1 with a cable like this or i need a receiver with HDMI?

Should work. I am too using Optical cable and it works fine

Last time i tried it would not output (EAC3) Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 source to an older (AC3) Dolby Digital 5.1 AVR, so YMMV.
