Hello all, I purchased a couple of the new Google TVs at launch and really enjoying them. However, I originally was using nvidia shield TV... I know I just had to try the new thing 😀, and when using the Shields I was able to install Airplay Clients like AirReciever and it would work in the background and worked well, allowing me to cast and Airplay. I like having agnostic platforms. However I noticed with the new Google TVs I can install Airplay receivers still but they don't work at all. They sometimes run the background so they show up on the iphone but never work. I know Google tv is on a newer version of Android, were there changes in android tv preventing certain apps running in the back ground?

I just got a TCL QLED android TV and I cannot figure out how to disable the beep sound it makes whenever I scroll. I've tried sound settings, system settings, everything and I just can't find an option to disable this.

Does anybody know if there is a setting to disable this?

Chromecast with Youtube TV often asks "are you still watching" when I first turn on my TV. Yes, the TV had been turned for a few hours, off using the Chromcast remote. Not a big deal to answer "yes" but why??

Anyone else having issues with the new Discovery plus app on Google TV crashing on launch?

I installed the Cinehub APK from a USB Drive but it is now in the system apps directory under "settings" on my Sony Bravia.

Any way I can move it to "downloaded apps" or move it to the home screen?

I have a xiaomi mi box s android tv and i was wondering if there is a way to sideload samsung smart tv apps on to the android tv box?

I want to install a live tv app that is only available on smart tv’s like samsung, philips, etc And because i just bought a TLC smart tv i don’t want to buy a new Samsung TV.

So if anyone tell me if it’s possible or not that would be helpful !

Hi My goal is to watch IPTV and Netflix on my TV and movies from a USB stick. This box is at 49€ right now in my country so its in my budget but i'm a bit overwhelmed by all the different models available (x96, fire stick etc..). Can someone point me in the right direction please ? Thanks

To make a long story short.
I own Android tv for over 8 years and very familiar with it.
Ordered the new google device to check it out.
few things I've noticed:

1. Live channels (beta), HD Silicondust as source. you can download the app and set it up but cannot add it to the apps shortcuts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
2. Google Play movies and TV: we have subscription for latest The Simpsons season, we also have Disney+. when going to library the library shows the correct shows I'm subscribed to but not the latest season. it actually forces me to watch the Simpsons on Disney+
   The only way to access the "old" google movies app is via the google store (also hard to access) and force open it from there.

anyone knows is there away to force these apps in the shortcuts (ATV os 10)?

I've had a problem with my MiBox (an older model, not S).

I am connected to the internet, I can browse YT, Netflix, Kodi etc, but when I try to play anything on either platforms, I'm getting an error as if there was no internet.

It's not cached content, when I'm searching for something I had never searched for on YT, I'm getting various results, just can't play any of them.

There have been no software updates recently.

Restarting the box helps for a while, but after an hour or so it goes back to not loading any content.

Any ideas what I could do besides reseting the device altogether?

So my family recently purchased a new TV "SONY XBR 75X800H" which is somewhat new i believe. It does have the android OS, and google play as well. I dont really have any experience with tvs, as Im more of a pc guy. I stopped owning a tv myself probably 7+ years ago. I thought it woul be as easy as just downloading an n64/nes emulator on the tv, but when looking at googleplay via the TV, there are only specific games shown. which i assume were approved to work with the tv and such. So im here asking if there is anyway to download apks straight to the tv, or somehow let it show all the games on google play whether or not theyre compatible with the tv. Thanks in advance

What i wanna do is play movies from my phone on VLC and watch them on the tv BUT from the VLC app with the VLC menu etc, not just stream it to the tv. Can anybody help?

Hello everyone, I need your help finding the best headphones for Sony Android TV. I have been using Sony wireless ear cup headphones with charging base but the sound was too staticky and now I want to have a better one for Movies and football. My TV has a bluetooth feature but usually there will be sound lag and delays so I prefer something with base to connect it directly to the tv and the base will transmit the signal to the headphones. Any suggestions?

For those having philips ambilight tv with android, does the ambilight work on spotify app, netflix ? I really want to buy a philips ambilight tv but if the ambilight wont work on all apps i will pass. Thank you.

Recently purchased a Hisense AndroidTV. I'm not a fan of the default Live TV app and would like to change it to Live Channels. I tried to use button remapper it can't seem to have access to the accessibility services.

Does anyone know of a way to make this happen? Or how to change the default Live TV app?

i have a Nvidia shield tv and both the controller and remote have given up on me. i desperately need a remote as me and my wife hate using the android app to navigate.

my budget is INR 1500 but I can stretch a bit if product is good. i found nothing on amazon and need help from you in suggesting a few. we are ok using a controller too for navigation.

This is the absolute worst level of junk I have tried to make work. TV is a "Soniq" some cheap brand but states has Chromecast built in.

TV is on, connected to network cable/ethernet on their internal network. I am on a PC on the internal network. From Chrome the "Cast" feature shows the device but no matter what states "Source not supported". We have tried all sorts of apps and whatever its just all crap, just garbage.

Try to connect TV to wifi incase that might make a difference somehow, it finds the SSIDs of networks, or we input a hidden network we have. It then fails to connect and states "couldn't find wifi".. Umm hello you can find it you shows the SSID.. That message is completely incorrect and just another symbol of googles engineer nerds unable to make anything actually work.

So just junk, customer wasted their money, I look like a clown unable to make such a simple thing work as a Systems Engineer who supports servers and networking and whatever day to day but can't work out a TV.. Junk. Do not buy "android" junk TVs.

Just got one of the new Chromecasts with Google TV and I really love it. To me, this is really the future of TV. However, I moved to the UK last year and Google has my Google Play account (I think?) stuck in the USA. I wasn’t able to get iPlayer or other UK content.

I created a fresh Google/Google Play account in the UK, but now all my purchased movies, etc are gone and I cannot view my Google photos via the Chromecast.

The only instructions I can find anywhere on the web to convert my existing account to a different country start with “on your Android phone or tablet...”. I do iPhone/iPad. I cannot find any way to do this without an Android device.

I just got my second Android tv, upgraded from an old androidtv 5.1 to a new android tv 9. I used to watch yt throught smartyttv app before but then I heard that the development got stalled and people started to recommend smartytnext but I saw some recent changes on smartyttv's github. So, for a lightweight UI and a player that really remove ads, which one is better?

Edit: looking on both github pages, I realised both are from the same dev.

I ordered one from Amazon and it just came in. When I plugged first time to my monitor it just showed a white Mi logo for like 10 seconds and it went all black. I tried unplugging and repluggibg but no chance. I’ve also tried two other TVs at home but all three of them gets no signal. I used the power adapter and cable in the box at first tries but even when I changed them it won’t show anything. The led on the stick is on and I cannot think any solutions at this point before returning it. Any ideas?

I picked up one of those Dynalink Google TV boxed (based on Google's own test board). It's a great little streamer and works flawlessly...with one exception. I don't see a way to force close apps.

On other boxes, I can double-press the home button to bring up the recent list, but that functionality is disabled here. I have to go into the setting menu, go to apps, and find the app that's "stuck" (most of the time, Peacock TV) and force stop it.

I'm trying to find a simpler way to do it for the, shall we say, less technically savvy in my household. Anyone else with one of these boxes have a solution?

Hello, I got a 32" TCL Android TV (32A325) and the picture settings seem to be on default when I open a video player like Stremio. The picture settings work fine on apps like Netflix or YouTube.

I'd like to know if there's a way to enable the picture settings on other apps.

I have tried to find the answer for this issue all over without any luck.

I have recently bought a Humax Aura Android TV box and it is connected to my LG CX

I am trying to get my Aura remote to control the TV volume, i have gone through all the Universal Remote control codes and although the Aura remote can do basic things like turn the TV off it does not change the volume of the TV, instead it reverts to changing the Android TV system volume.

Is there a solution to this or do i always need to use my LG remote for the volume?
