I use Kodi alot, is there any way to make Kodi my launcher? I can interlink to other apps from the Kodi menu but would like to return to Kodi when I press the home button.

As the title says. I'd like to replace the stock youtube app with Smart Youtube TV, especially because no ads. However, the home screen channels aren't working. The recommended videos are just the stock ones for a non-signed in app, and the subscriptions channel is empty.

Is there any fix for this?

So I'm new to the androidtv game but now own an Nvidia Shield and Sony x950h running AndroidTV. I am also new to the NAS game. I have an NAS where I'm accessing the files directly to play on my TV (no plex server or anything like that). I have two questions:

1. How do I ensure I am getting the full 4K/Atmos quality out of the compatible files?
2. What app will let me select the dubs/subs that are packaged either in the file or in its folder?

I've used kodi and VLC so far and they play most files but I'm not sure if I'm getting 100% quality and I can't control the audio tracks.

So I've been attempting to play the world ends with you using drastic ds emulator on chromecast with google tv, and it works pretty well with a connected bluetooth mouse. Though I can't help but want an actual touchscreen to play it with. Is there any way to mirror the screen back to my phone (galaxy s20 fe 5g)? And if not a way to connect some sort of touchpad?

I have a Chromecast w Google TV. Yesterday a technician from my ISP was here to set me up with an updated modem/router. He said this type of router does not display 2 different SSID's for 2.4 vs 5 but it somehow magically matches the device that connects to it to the 'best' frequency/channel. I was like 'Sure'. I connected my CCGWTV to my new router and it works fine but is there any way to tell if it's using 2.4 or 5 on the Chromecast? Thanks.

If you are in the UK, does anyone use this device and know if the EFL app is accessible?

I already have a smart TV, and multiple streaming devices, the only benefit to this device, is that it's Android and it cuts out the need to cast, If certain apps are available.

I have the BT Sport mobile app, bur it will only let you log in on mobile devices. There is a BT Sport smart TV app, but the mobile log in will not work.

Even though there is an EFL app, which I currently use, I wondered if it was accessible on GCCTV without the need to cast.

Does anyone else have the problem with the JBL link bar, that the music or sound effects are really loud, and quite dialogues on Netflix?

The Tanix TX6 comes with a H6 cortext A53 processor with twice the RAM and almost three times the storage compared to the Mi TV box. The Mi TV Box has a Cortex A53 chip (I'm not really sure if they're the same chip). Even though the Tanix seems like an easy choice I'm not sure how well it'd fare in long term use. Edit: my budget is pretty tight so the Mi TV Box is as high as I'm willing to spend

Just wondering if it's possible to use the Google chromecast ethernet adaptor with the new Google TV? Would like to avoid having to buy a new adaptor if possible

My ISP/IPTV provider recently changed their equipment and the new boxes are running Android Oreo (model is HPH07) with a custom IPTV app on top of it. I managed to get to the underlaying system and installed a couple of apps no problem so I can use the box as a general purpose media player/streaming box.

My problem is that you have to connect their boxes to their modem/router (can't work through a switch or even on wifi) and it connects only for IPTV service with no internet on the cable or vice versa if I manage to get internet on the connection first there is no tv signal. My guess is they tunnel the connection to an IPTV only server on their network (when I check the IP of the net connection it is not on my internal network).

Therefore I want to be able to set certain apps use the Wi-Fi connection for general purpose internet and keep the ethernet just for the IPTV. I know I can do that on a phone with Wi-Fi and Data, but can't find a way to do it with ethernet and Wi-Fi. Anyone know of a way to do this? Even an app would probably work as well.

Hi, I used to be able to select Netflix under “Customise Channels” and it would show up on my Home Screen with a list of recommendations. Now, I can’t select this under the menu anymore. I’m running the latest version of everything. Is this a known fault?

My Chromecast with Google TV for the past 3 weeks is buffering/freezing constantly to the point it has become unusable. I got it the day after it was released, and it was fine, then 3 weeks ago apps like Netflix, YouTube buffer for a few seconds before they freeze. I did a trial of Philo, same issue, you will hear a sound but then the screen the video will freeze after 3 seconds and just finally give out. I have to unplug/plug in to the Chromecast sometimes it works, sometimes not. It has the latest firmware, I also updated my router. I am not having issues with any other devices, I have a 4k Fire Stick and that works without issue. I had to break that out as the Chromecast is unusable, casting though works well. My TV is not 4k and the Chromecast sets it at 1080p which is correct, I did try lowering resolution per a post I saw elsewhere, no change. My internet speed is 200 down/10 up so that's not the issue. Anyone else having this issue, am I missing a setting?
