So this started happening today after about 2 weeks of use. Only happening with high frame rate videos on YouTube. CCwGTV is running on latest firmware. I’ve tried restarting it, unplugging it and replugging into other HDMI ports, reinstalling YouTube… still the same.
I noticed these glitches go away when I bump down the CCwGTV’s setting down to 720p 60Hz and/or bumping down the resolution in YouTube, but this is not an ideal solution. I admit my TV is a 10-year old Samsung that only goes up to 1080i yet this wasn’t an issue before today’s malfunction.
Short of a factory reset, is there any other way to fix this? Thanks in advance.
If this is how it deals with packet loss, then that is WAY better than the classic green blocks.
Same issue happens on my unit, and I started to notice it on this particular video, however this step-shaped glitch / distortion is not as prominent as in your case and happens only once in a few minutes. However, it also happens on non-HDR 4K content (I observed it watching HTDVtest and David Bruce channels as well).
I didn't see any of this happen watching Netflix. Will test with other streaming services soon.
Out of curiosity: how is your unit connected? Mine runs through 4K AVR (i.e. is not connected to the TV directly).
Did anyone ever find a fix to this? The same issue has been happening to me for the last month or so, but not as badly as shown in the video. It only seems to affect the default YouTube app - Twitch and Smart YouTube TV / SmartTubeNext all play 60fps content fine for me
Guys, how's the situation on your side?
I recently noticed things improved a lot. Month after reading this thread the situation got even worse for me: not only I got lots of glitches, but also almost all 4K videos started to freeze for me at some point only to buffer for around 5-10 seconds and switch to fugly 360p (forcing me to switch to 4K again, driving me crazy).
Recently everything started to work well and honestly, I cannot pinpoint anything obvious. I did notice one thing, though: my router (Asus RT AC-68U with 386.1 Asus Merlin fw onboard) goes to 100% CPU usage and starts to kind of "choke" on routing whole network speed (which itself is 1GBps, and my ISP provides 500/30 Mbps speed) to around 200M Bbps when my Mac is connected to the WLAN (no problem using Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter).
What are your speed guys? Anyone using Asus router here? I'm trying to find some common denominator here...
Dayumm this is the first video I play on new TVs!
