I just got the A80J with GoogleTV. I want to sideload DirecTV (not DTVNow, but the app that I can use on my phone or Tablet with the standard DirecTV package) and Spectrum Sportsnet (which only has a phone and Tablet version). Can I do that?

I've got a SONY BRAVIA KD43XG8096BU, it's developed this really strange qwerk where after turning the TV on it will boot up, load the the say main menu screen then turn straight off again. I have to then power it back up a second time for it to stay on. The issue also happens when I run a Google command "Google, Open Netflix on the TV" it will power up, then turn off. If I say the command again it will work.

I've tried resetting the TV to default, does the same thing... I don't know what else to try & fix it?

I see these most commonly with the AMLogic S905D chipset. The built in tuner drives up the price a bit so I wonder are the tuners good or is it better to by a basic Android TV box and spend the extra money on a dedicated USB tuner card like what Hauppauge offers?

In my opinion the mobile app is really limited and would be nice if you could do more with it such as list out installed apps in order to launch them, etc.

So I got an Android Tv and use Tivimate for my tv. Wanted the option to record and couldn't figure out a way to record to the USB stick. I found that if I format the USB stick as Shared Storage, I could move tivimate to the USB stick and it would save the recordings there as well. It was a perfect plan, worked flawlessly until my tv updated. None of the apps on the USB stick would show up. So I tried to reformat and it succeeds, but then shows 0 bytes available. Tried again, and same problem. Got a new stick, set it all up, and next update had the same problem. Like WTF is going on?

as you may know, the old google TV(the one from 20110) is unusable by now, as only netflix works. but i keep getting the "incorrect time" error. even IF i set it right. any Answers?

My SO & I just bought a Google TV, and he linked it with his Google account.

Ideally it would be great if he & I could both maintain the same watchlist, adding things from mobile & web through the day & then seeing them on the TV. However, it looks like only his watchlist will show up on the TV.

Is there a way for us to share/sync a single watchlist from both of our separate Google accounts? We’re in the same home group of that helps.

In theory, I could add my account to the Google TV and we could toggle between his & my accounts, but that’s pretty cumbersome.

Is there a way to do this via the web, or does it have to be via the GoogleTV itself?

What is the point of the Live Channels app? I see it here, but I'm not able to add YouTubeTV and Philo as sources so I can have all channels in one place. What is it for exactly?

hey, so a few months ago i got a TCL TV with Android TV - because the implementation on that model is very poor, not to mention the weak hardware, I ended up buying a Nvidia shield.

What i want to to now is essentially make the 'smart' TV stupid, just a giant screen, where i can switch between a few different inputs. Is that even possible? if yes how would i go about it?

I have Nokia 43inch UHD Android TV. Recently I used an app pre-installed "Audio Connect" on my TV and since then audio output of TV is increased to many folds. Even using TV audio output at 5% (volume bar), it sounds unbearable to hear. I used that app to connect my phone to TV via Bluetooth for listening songs and now it caused audio boost.

I tried resetting all the settings (including audio and whole TV reset) but still it didn't fixed up the problem. I don't know what caused the problem and also I recently upgraded to new Android update. Is new update is the cause because earlier using same app gave no problem? Or is it a hardware problem now cause I reset any settings I can find and problem still exist? Any ideas?

Is the Chromecast gonna get software updates longer? Can this thing run all of Android TV apps?

I cannot find in the internet how/if I'm able to change network name of Chromecast built-in from my Sony TV (Android 8)

It says now some default name "Bravia4KBlaBlaBla". This name is displayed as available casting device in my cell phone. I never set something like this in TV.

When I turn on TV from sleep, and wait for few minutes, this Chromecast built-in is discovered in the network with different name of "Cinema Room TV" -> this is correct and reflects the name I have set up in TV in the settings. This time, the name "Bravia4KBlaBlaBla" is no longer available.
