Stadia doesn’t seem nearly ready for Google TV launch w/ just weeks left on Chromecast promise
The real question is how much longer is Google actually committed to Stadia? It's going to take pretty big changes from Google for most people to trust enough to put their eggs in that basket.
Whether it officially launches or not, you can still sideload the stadia APK and it works great. At least it did for me on a formuler gtv as well as a sheild.
I can't see why not. The article says that Google is still committed in having it on the new CC in this first half of the year
If the service can't reach everywhere in the world, then forget about it
I haven't heard a peep from Stadia since it launched.
They said they will do it before end of June. It's taking them way too long already
The article is basically:
"The June 30 2021 deadline hasn't changed, but don't expect it on May 18 at Google I/O".
The core technology, actually playing games with Stadia, works great if you sideload the Android app. Which makes this so strange, it's just about an interface and a few additional features like voice chat and 2+ controllers.
The oddest thing IMHO is Google created such a deadline on Sept 30 2020, not that we now know they are, apparently, maxxing it.
Has the feel of another Google abandoned project.
