So it looks like I am no longer getting an Atmos signal from the Disney+ app on my Sony Bravia X950H (Android TV 9) since the latest update to version 2.9.1-rc1. The title pages of the content still read Dolby Atmos but I’m only getting Dolby Digital+ 5.1 signals now. A poster on AVS Forum brought this up when he got the update several days ago before me. Sure enough it has now happened to me as well. And according to the poster on AVS Forum the Disney customer service rep he chatted with said that Atmos should have never been available for his 2020 TV in the first place. So I have had Atmos for well over a year and Disney just yanked it away. NOT COOL!!! 😠. Anyone else with an X950H get the update and experiencing this?

Is there any way to get apks from other country regions?

I have a Sony Bravia A80J with the built-in Google TV. It is running Android TV 10. I hate the Google TV homescreen with the huge ad banner, so I did the ADB trick to disable it and use FLauncher instead. Great.

One very small thing I've noticed that isn't a dealbreaker but would be nice to get fixed, is when I turn off/on the TV, it does not return back to FLauncher/homescreen. It just stays on the last app that was open. It does this even if I leave the TV off for hours before turning on. Is there a way to get it to go back to the FLauncher homescreen when waking / turning the TV on? I am not sure if this is specific for the Sony TV implementation or not. I did try sideloading "Launch on Boot" for the launch on wake option, but that did not work for me.

EDIT: I figured out a solution that will work most of the way for me. I ended up using Tasker (side loaded) to create a task to launch FLaucher when the display turns off. Pretty simple and it seems to work well. The only hitch is that it doesn't have the 30 second wait like the native Sony wakeup (if turned back on within 30 seconds, return to previous screen, if more than 30 seconds then go to home screen), it just always goes back to home screen even on a short off cycle. I'm sure there's a way to do this in Tasker with some type of custom variable that can track screen off time, but I'm too lazy now and I'm thinking I'll be 99% if not 100% happy with the simple task.

Crazy to think that I bought Tasker for my old Droid phone about 12 years ago when I was a poor college student and now I'm still using the same purchased app 12 years later on my TV's operating system.

There are many reasons for this problem but in my case the Bluetooth headphones were interfering with the Bluetooth in the remote control.

The solution? I turned off the Bluetooth of the remote control and only used it as infrared remote control.

I'm streaming moves to my tv using windows built in "media streaming" but anything above 1080p and sometimes including 1080p stutters a lot, hat could be the issue ? I use VLC to play the movies but the built in tv player stutters too

I want to share my experience in regards to my Philips TV.

1- If I change my picture sittings and switch the HDMI input to another device.

2- And then go back to the original device, it becomes very bright. (While the numbers are same of picture settings)

4- I have to manually enable then disable the PC mode to get the good colors like before.

3- Found the option " Adaptive Luma Control " Disabled should be (Low) to keep the configurations/brightness or to force the values instead of (disabled) after switching inputs.

Hello everyone, I have a Sony Bravia tv (model number XR-55A90J) that literally yesterday night I was able to change accounts on the main page and in YouTube. But this afternoon when I went to turn it on, it only gave me the option to select one account and when I go into YouTube it also only gives me one account to select, when clicking on manage accounts it only gives me the option to remove the other accounts. Any help or knowledge is wonderful and appreciated.

When you search for a movie or a show on Firestick through voice, it displays relevant results by searching all apps. There are many posts online saying "Searchable apps" function is broken on Android/Google TV and it displays search results only from YouTube and in some cases Netflix. Is this still the case or has it been fixed?

I just got that $20 ONN Android TV box from Wal-Mart, plugged in an external USB drive with some MP4 movies I have saved and to my surprise it played them quite well using the built in movie player app. Now that I know it works I'd appreciate any suggestions for:

1. A better media player app than the movie player app I'm using. Maybe something that let's you scroll through a video and see a little thumbnail preview as you scroll, like what you get on YouTube. And something that plays photos and music files would be nice.
2. A better remote control, one with buttons for fast forward/rewind and skip chapter or ahead buttons that work with a media player app. I see some "universal" remotes on Amazon that claim to work with an Android TV box but would love to hear of one that someone actually uses with the ONN box.

If there are good options for the above two items this may be the best media player option I've ever found.

Web video Caster recently stopped streaming successfully to my Sony android TV. It's not able to play m3u8 format. This issue has only recently occurred. Has anyone had the same issue? Is there a fix?

New Sony X90K TV, I am going through setup and there is an option to add either antenna/cable channels and also channels from downloaded apps to the TV's channel list (PlutoTV is an option, for example), but YouTube TV is not an option here. Strike 1. Oh well, I guess I just use the YouTube TV application directly then. Works, once you're in the app, but how do I get a one-button shortcut to the YouTube TV app on the Sony TV remote?

On my old Chromecast remote you can customize the "YouTube" button to either take you to the YouTube or YouTube TV app. Doesn't appear this is adjustable on the Sony remote ("YouTube" button only goes to YouTube). Strike 2.

There is a "TV" button on the remote that can be programmed to a specific input source (HDMI1, Antenna, etc.) but this also doesn't give the option to select YouTube TV as the default. Strike 3.

Why is this so hard? I just want to be able to push one button on the remote that takes me to live TV channels (YouTube TV). For an app and an OS both owned by the same company the lack of integration here is puzzling.

Hey all, so I have a KD-55XE9005 and for the most part I love it. The biggest problem I have with it is that it only has a 100mb ethernet port. While this is fine for streaming content upto 4k from services such as Netflix and Disney+ it's not good enough to stream my own content via my PC.

My TV has android 9 and won't be getting the android 10 update that newer TVs have so using a third party ethernet adatper won't work.

I've been looking at solutions for this and found the following:

Android box such as an Nvidia shield but they're really expensive

Making my own box with raspberry pi 4 but again quite expensive

Buying a 4k firestick and ethernet separately and joining them together (seen videos on youtube) which seems like the cheapest option but it's both ugly and fiddly as heck.

So does anyone have any cheaper and simpler options for doing this?

I've had my Phillips 4k Android/Google TV for over a year at this point. I thought that someone would have updated the apps to fix the issue but it hasn't, so I need some help.

Both the Google Movies & TV app and the Disney+ app have the worst audio. Everything sounds like it's coming from inside a tin can 99% of the time. But this is only when I access the apps directly from the TV itself. When I cast either app to the TV, audio is fine. If I plug in a Roku or a Chromecast, audio from those apps are fine.

It is not knowing why it doesn't work and why I can't fix it that has become the annoying part. Every other app works without a hitch. It would be fine if Disney didn't work. But the Google made app?

Please if anyone has any good suggestions to fixing this let me know.

Also I have a sound bar attached to the TV with a digital audio cable. In case anyone was wondering, the sound from the apps is garbage with or without the sound bar.
