I'm not the user of the Sony Android TV. But I'm the user of the the Onn. TV Box.
Did you used Web Video Caster with the way that just casting the app and video directly?
If you use Web Video Caster with its receiver app on Android TV, I think the performance of video csating will be more stable.
You can find the receiver app on your Android TV's Google Play Store.
I found this way to cast video few weeks ago and had a very great experience of watching videos.
