Hello Everyone! I've got a question regarding Android 11 running on my TV (TCL 43p615). I've noticed that all permissions to access internal storage are denied or blocked and apps installed by me (from official Google Play store or side-loaded) can't have access granted to read/write anything there. I wanted to run Lemuroid or RetroArch - both apps can be installed but later can't access files (Games/Roms).

Is it normal in Android 11? Can it be somehow fixed or circumvented? Thanks!

I got a xaomi mi tv box s, got some roms to work on there with lemuroid. Prtty please with it, got all the customisations I needed on it (over the rubbish roku I used to have).

But one thing I regret is not paying more for the tv shield. When i bought it, i didn't think I was going to play roms on it. But now that I have it, popped in lemuroid and can play snes roms easily. I tried to put psx roms on it and it just didn't like it much. The frame rate was slow.

I dont have a console, I play civ5 on my PC. so not a gamer any more. But I used to play console games when I was younger. So the snes and genesis roms are nice for nostalgia - would have been nice to play psx games.

Does anyone know if a different emulator will play better? I'm in the UK, is PAL/NTSC an issue?

Edit:I'm not happy with the mitv box s. The lag on roms was just a setting tweak and it's fixed. Can play psx roms perfectly fine.

The storage issues have been resolved with a USB hub and a few thumb drives.

I have this Saba Android TV, connected by WiFi. Next to it I have an Xbox 360 with only Ethernet connection. Question: can I share TV's internet connection, through Ethernet cable, to Xbox? If yes, how? Thanks.

Hi! Is there a way to get that Roku function? To listen to my tv thru my phone? I have a Xiaomi Mi Box and a Huawei with Android 10 Ive tried using Bluetooth buds and they were working well for the first couple of weeks but now whenever I pair them to the TV they stop working, it's basically lag on the buds, then it fasts forward super quick to keep up with the video

So I have two Google accounts, I want to have one in the Google TV home menu, so I can see recommendations and all that stuff.
Then I have another account in which I pay YouTube premium, so obviously I want it to be the main YouTube account and I don't want to switch account every time I open YouTube.

Is there any way?

I'm planning on watching some of my 4k blu ray rips that's located in my 5TB external hard drive on my Hisense U7G TV. On the Chromecast official support page it states that the Google Chromecast is only able to detect flash drives and SD cards. Does that mean there's no way for Google Chromecast to detect my external hard drive ? Also say if I were to use PLEX or Jellyfin on my Chromecast would these apps be able to detect my external drive if it were connected to the TV USB 3.0 ?

I've had my Chromecast w/Google TV for several months and this became a problem just a few days ago.  I first noticed with Netflix, but now it's happening on Prime Video, Peacock, and PBS.  Apple TV seems to be affected, but it's only the audio - video streams okay.  HBO Max streams okay.

Netflix and Prime give error messages indicating not being able to play a stream, connect, or other indication that there's a problem.  Peacock and PBS seem to try and start streaming episodes but then go back to the previous page/menu without any error message.  All apps work fine on mobile devices that are connected to the same network.
I've logged out of and back into all problem apps and updated/checked Chromecast with no improvement.  The only thing I've found that fixes the problem is restarting Chromecast.  However, that workaround doesn't last for more than a day.

My Sharp Android TV (4T-C70BK2UD) has had an update available for a while. In the spot where it used to say "update now" it said something about new features, which leads me to think it upgraded in the background.

The TV now constantly resets, sometimes a google/android error pops up "storage space low"

I'd LOVE to figure out how to launch into safe mode / recovery mode / bootloader and wipe it clean for a fresh restart otherwise it seems like my TV is bricked?

Go to Settings - Remote & Accessories - Setup buttons on remote - Reset - Clear and it's done. Now you can use the android device volume.

hi i just have a problem, my tv stick doesnt work with my remote, i mean the remote is working but tv stick is not responding to any clicks, ill add that tv stick is not connected to wifi so there is no option to operate it with some remote app; any ideas what can i do? i cant plug a mouse and keyboard cuz there are no places to plug it in tv stick

I wanna buy myself one of these devices, but can't decide... I have couple of questions.

1. Is sideloading easy? Because I've seen people complaining that they can't do that with Xiaomi device.
2. Does CloudStream/ Saikou/ HDO max work on those devices?
3. Can you pair DualShock4?
4. Can you connect external HDD and play media from it
5. Can you have desktop mode, in similar way whe you conect Huawei or Samsung phones to TV
6. Can you pair BT keyboards, mice and headphones/earphones?

Recently got myself Android TV and I'm looking for Apps which you have found useful.

Apart from few streaming apps which are available on Play Store, I haven't yet installed anything else.

My TCL TV only has "standard" and it puts brightness to 100 and enables "ECO". What's your picture settings for saving power?

I started trying to find replacement remotes for the Onn box today, but I couldn't figure out what would and wouldn't work with it. Everything that comes up on Amazon was either for specific TV sets running Android TV or for Chromecast with Google TV. I tried to check the Android TV Guide page, but the Remote Control Manufacturers button doesn't seem to work.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
