im lookign to run a modern version of Android TV on a USFF computer. Intel Celron, 4GB ram, 32GB emmc storage. machine's just gonna be for Youtube and netflix.

where do i start? i know there was an Android tv x86 project but it seems the guy was selling stuff he dieent own, so the projects blacklisted everwhere but his own discord (and im not paying for someone elses FOSS)

As the title says. I have a few apps that run videos internally (can't cast) and also a few other apps (games, flashcard apps, etc) that I want to run on my TV.

I have a Craig Android stick from wayyyy back but it is really slow since it is running an old version of android (4.1)

Any suggestions? Do all Android TV boxes have the Play store?

My Walmart ONN 4k streaming box has been working flawlessly for months. All of a sudden, starting 2 days ago, whenever I wake it up, it tries to load YouTube (all by itself) and fails instaed of going to the home screen. I have to press the (live TV) button again to launch YouTube TV when in the past I only had to press it once (it would wake up and launch the app right away). Did I miss something?

whenever something moves it smears with artifacts, it's most noticeable with captions, the space around them are artifacts of the frame before. I've looked online, looked through settings countless times, restarted the TV a bunch and unplugged and replugged it but nothings worked. Any idea as to what I can do to solve this? It's hard to watch anything especially animation based stuff cos the smearing and artifacts are awful. Any help is welcome!

Hello all. I'm pretty new to Google/Android TV as I bought a Sony Bravia recently. Ads don't normally bother me much except today I got a Youtube ad for a new Beyonce album. I have young kids and the album cover shows her nearly nude and has a link to an the album online, specifically stating that it's got explicit content. I'm trying to take some measures to limit any accidental exposure to what I deem to be objectional content, including blocking both androidtvwatsonfe-pa.googleapis.com and androidtvchannels-pa.googleapis.com at the router level but this damn ad is still there on my TV. Is there a way to force the For You section to refresh itself? I've tried turning the WiFi off and back on and I restarted the TV via the System preferences but so far, that ad won't go away. Does anyone have any other tips? Are there any other URLs I should be blocking? I really appreciate the help.

Edit: Things I learned. On my Bravia, there was no Andoid Home but the Google TV app seemed to be the equivalent. Killing this app seemed to refresh my Home screen. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to block the ads that still left the TV usable in a way that I liked. I was able to set up PiHole on an old Raspberry Pi I had and it worked well on my other devices, just not in blocking the ads on my TV. The one DNS request I was able to block was for the launcher on my TV but this left my TV lagging during regularly use. I'm going to ditch the default launcher and use the Apple TV (I know, probably not a popular device in these parts) as the default interface. I very much appreciate everyone's help here. I learned a lot.

I tried to get the old android TV launcher on my chromecast but after disabling the stock launcher with the TechdoctorUk app My screen went black I restarted It shows the google tv logo then black. I tried casting a youtube video and it open youtube and the video start but I'm stuck on youtube because I can't access the stock launcher. I can't even access the settings to revert my launcher.

Is there a way to open the settings on the chromecast without the launcher AND without long press on home ?

Because of the deals I got a new philips tv today. I noticed it had chromecast and I have an android (galaxy z flip) with smart view so I wanted to try out how to somehow screenshare my phone into the TV since I have other apps on my phone that are not compatible with the TV google app.

So far I have had so many problems. My phone's smartview isn't recognizing the TV so I can't screenshare thereTV.

When I go to youtube I can't share my video with the tv because it doesn't show up, but if I'm in YouTube in the tv my phone asks me if I want to add the song on que ( super weird).

Bluetooth on my phone is connected to the tv.

The weird thing is that while I was downloading an app on my phone it asked me if I wanted to download it on my tv too? Soo how is it registering there and not on martview or the Google home app.

I downloaded the Google home app to try chromecast instead, But it's also not recognizing the chromecast tv.

-Both devises are on the same internet.

• I have tried unistalling chromecast updates and re installalling.
• I have rebooted the tv to factory reset. -chromecast is on (always) -I updated my phone -Bluetooth on my phone is connected to the tv.

I don't know what else to do. Does chromecast just not work anymore ? Or smartview on android not work on philip? What can I do if I want to screenshare I've been trying to solve this for 4 hours already:(

I just want to watch my show in a bigger screen now that I can.

I am able to see my mouse input. But on some apps like Spotify, I cannot see the input or where I am on screen with my android box remote (with d pad up down left right) I have to guess where it's located. Is there a way to see where my user input is?

So I'm having bluetooth issues with my Xiaomi mi stick. It won't play videos while my headphones are connected. So does anybody with a google chromecast ultra have the same issues? I have been thinking about switching to that one instead, to see if it works better with headphones connected.

I've been searching for the Virgin TV Go apk for Android TV but I'm unable to find it. Does the Android TV version of the app exist? if so, Where can I safely get the apk? (I'm not in UK)

Sony 55xe8596, being driven insane by this, had the TV second hand for a year but suddenly got this artifacting issue, I've seen posts about this affecting one app I.e Netflix. but this is on every app, no other graphical glitches when using the apps the TV is responsive and no visible screen tearing when on menus or apps, I've tried to clear cache and force stop apps, restarted the TV countless times, tried to factory reset TV (failed), is this a GPU issue and should I just take the L?

Update, switching to WiFi had fixed somewhat but still see artifacting on streaming services could be isp as had issues with them before, local video playback fine

When I'm watching tv the assistant feature is activated when they say “hey google” in the commercials. It’s happening often now with those new google commercials and It’s really annoying…is there a way to correct this without turning off the feature? I still would like to use it as its convenient for me in other situations.

Hi so, I just bought a Hisense A6H 50” TV with Google TV, which uses Android TV 11. I cannot get the CourtTV app. It is in the Google Play store on other devices, but when I search for it on the TV it brings he to Law & Crime network which is totally different. While I can watch it live on Pluto, the real reason I want it is for the on demand stuff. I bought a Roku Streaming Stick 4k and the only thing it has that mine doesn’t have is Court TV. I also had a Fire Stick 4k Max which also had CourtTV and fire os is a leg of Android TV. I had this same issue with my CCwGTV which I loved but again app isn’t there. I installed it on Kodi. On the screen it is the resolution of a cell phone and doesn’t work properly. What gives? It’s in the play store on other devices, I understand Roku is totally different but as far as I know if it’s on fire os then it should be on Google tv. I know this sounds trivial but this is my second most used app after discovery+ and I’d really like to return the streaming stick a get my $60 back since it’s just for one app. Also casting using web video caster from my iPhone somewhat works but the mobile version doesn’t have all the on demand stuff either. I’ve tried all I know and any help would be great. Thanks 😁

Hi! NVIDIA Shield TV Pro user here, but I don't know if this really matters. I was wondering if it's possible to have multiple custom app rows on the home screen without using external launchers. I could always use the favorite apps one for everything but at least I want to separate games from streaming services. Any help?
