Nvidia shield remote tries to operate wrong box

I have three Shields. One in basement, one on 1st floor, and 1 on 2nd floor. The remotes consistently connect to the wrong box. Like I'll be on 1st floor trying to operate that box and like 95% of the time it's operating the basement box. Can anyone help me out?

Have you tried the option in developer settings to not auto-pair with bundled accessories?

I bought USB plug in led remotes for my shields with full keyboards on the backside, paid $15 us for them each, work wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than shield unless you use voice to search then I'm not sure
