Hi everyone,I have a small doubt, My work and need is fully based on web browser, getting a pc is my first choice( but sadly i dont have enough savings) Can i use my android box as a web browser kinda pc ? I know that i supports mouse but if i plug in a keyboard will it disable the on screen keyboard ? The mi box has 2 gigs of ram and all i use is few tabs of online compilers for python and c programming languages.will it be ok to run ?

So I've been trying to use a USB stick to give some extra app storage. Bought a Memorex 32GB stick (cheap, could be the issue but wanted to test) and while the TV allows me to format as internal storage, it simple says "safe to eject" any time I try to check in device settings if it's working.

I've tried FAT32 and exfat I believe, and have had to delete and repartition on windows as it can't see the drive--likely how it should be, but I can't use it for the TV apparently so figured it was worth reformatting there.

So I'm at a bit of a loss, any suggestions? Already posted on Hisense board but no answers thus far.

Hi everyone, I am about to buy a new android TV which is the TCL P715. Has anyone tried said model? I am curious as to how it performs versus my old Xiaomi Mi Box S plugged to my non-smart TV which I will replace. TIA

I'm fed up with buffering. Time for a new box I think. The picture stops for usually 2-3 seconds, while the sound continues. I don't know how to tell if it's the box or the content supplier - hints please?

I'm in Thailand, watching UK TV. WiFi runs about 50Mbps, so I doubt if that's an issue. I got this box only last year, but haven't been too happy with it, very pretty, but who cares about that, it could be a Quasimodo model for all I care. Its an X10 PLUS if that matters.

I recently bought the 50 inch h6570G. However, it seems that the UI is not even close to 4k, or, is scaled incorrectly. This is most noticeable in the Netflix app, where the show thumbnails and the subtitles are extremely blurry (the show itself looks sharp). I was wondering if there is any way to fix this? On another TV that I have (samsung ru7100) the native netflix app UI looks sharp and I was wondering if there is any way to fix this?

Disclaimer: I am not interested in any cracked apps. I am open to app clones from reputable developers that remove adverts on websites like XDA Developers.

I have moved away from Spotify premium on my Android phone, in favour of Spotify Lite (no ads), YouTube Vanced, and YouTube Vanced Music. Using Set Orientation for Spotify Lite on my Shield TV works great, but most of the time you have to guess what is actually selected on screen as this does not highlight, and you cannot cast from Spotify Lite on another device. If you already have it running on Android TV and you open it on your phone (with the same account) and select something the UI will not respond on the phone but it will start playing on the TV. This could work but the drawback with this is that if you leave it running and you are not at home trying to use Spotify Lite your songs will only be playing at home, not to mention if you want to play music on your phone and someone else wants to use the Shield.

There are ads when casting from YouTube Music Vanced to the Shield - on the Shield.

Google Home does not yet allow adding the Shield TV to a speaker group

Smart YouTube TV works great on Android TV, there are no ads but if you try to have audio only by going to your homescreen it pauses playback.

Is there some way to do this? I am happy to root the Shield if necessary.

i only want my Shield to be used for Kodi for now, don't want the kids to access the games or whatnot.

if i want to play games, then maybe it will ask for a password. otherwise, it's just Kodi.

i tried "Launch on Boot" and it almost worked. i was still able to Exit Kodi easily by Exit on the menu or pressing Home button.

Using Philips oled Android tv, is it possible to use the TV as external monitor from Windows 10 - but only get the screen (from Windows computer) as a PIP, a mini window on the screen. So, I want to watch och use whatever on my tv but still see my screen from the computer.

So I have now gone through 3 models of remote control, they all have problems on several different TVs in my house.

• Rii MX3
• Rii MX6 (The version without the C1 button)
• WeChip W1

The MX3's back button didn't work (it acted as a right-mouse-click which doesn't work in a lot of Android TV apps), so that one was out. The other two didn't work for IR volume after programming. My Tivo Stream 4k does not pass keyboard-based volume/mute as CEC to my TVs, so I need the claimed infrared programability of these remotes. They register the power button properly during IR programming, and they appear to accept the programming of volume, but they only seem to send them as keyboard codes after it exits programming mode.

I need a remote that will send IR for Vol +/-, Mute, and Power, and keys for at least home, back, direction and OK. I would prefer one with a keyboard on the back, as all the above are, but it's not a strict requirement. Is there any remote that can do this that doesn't cost as much as the Stream 4k did?

I had the Harmony remote system, but with the new streaming player I am paring down to one Android TV per television (4 of them) and I want a separate remote for me and my wife in the living room for 5 total, so something that isn't $100 each is a must, preferably in the under $25 range... A Harmony for each of 4 rooms is absolutely overkill for something that should be a simple solution.

After finalising to buy a non-android TV and an android tv box separately, i started looking for the options online. I found: TLC, Sharp, VU brands do not have their non-smart TVs listed on online platforms readily. Only smart TV choices are there, that too with very minimalistic hardware such as 1gb RAM and 8gb HDD. (in 25-28k range)

Sanyo 43 inch ips led non-smart is available, but non-deliverable in many parts of India (including Delhi, Jaipur).

Hey guys, my on screen keyboard is gone on my mi box 3! I havent changed any settings whatsoever!

Everytime I try to open the keyboard (for example when searching apps on play store) it shows me a bar with a big mic button where I can use voice to search...

I already tried disabling and deleting gboard updates that fixed the problem 🙈

Do you face this issue too? I have read that there will be a new on screen keyboard for android tv soon is that true?

I bought a Sony KD-65AG9 TV with Android TV. Loving the device so far. One thing I noticed is that in the Youtube app it doesn't show video information like description or likes and dislikes. Is there a way to show them?

I’m trying to watch live tnt app and the picture will work for 30 seconds and then start skipping. It is working on other TVs. Any fix?

I have few media players installed on my Nvidia shield: VLC, MXplayer and of course Kodi

I have edited Kodi to use different players depending on content and situations. But my question is if any player is a real game changer and gives us better quality over others? I have already stopped using MXPlayer because it can't correctly handle audio pass-through in HW+ mode. So I mainly use VLC and Kodi's default player.

So do you advise using Kodi's default or VLC or another player?

I mostly use it to watch high quality 4K or FullHD files with 5.1 or 7.1 audio (pass-through)

Most of the time files are on my PC or External hard disks attached to my pc. I use Emby server on PC to access them from Nvidia shield or SMB shares.

I'd any of you having the same problem? 5.1 works perfectly fine in any other app such as Netflix or Hulu, but Disney+ doesn't even offer the option of having 5.1 audio, just language and subtitles. Is it a hardware, software problem? Or maybe my subscription doesn't include it?

I have an antenna and a satellite dish and want an app where I can have channels from both sources on the same epg. Can I use the live channels app for this?

Been looking at this for a while now. I have an LG B7 55" Oled TV, that is fed from my Sony AVR, and everything plugs into the AVR, 4k Blu Ray player, PS3, Xboxone, Roku Streaming stick plus.

I cut the chord earlier this year so all my content is from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV, Youtube, BBC Iplayer, spotify, Amazon Music and Plex streamed from my Roku and 4K Blu Rays.

I'm needing to replace the Roku, because its on the fritz, i think it got too hot and got fried a little.

Apple TV 4K at this point seems to be the front runner in terms of it will support all the apps I use and handles proper Dolby vision etc. But its pretty expensive, and as in the title, I can't stand the UI of apple devices or apps. But could live with it.

Nvidia shield doesn't support NowTV

Firestick & Roku don't seem to support as many formats?

John Lewis in the UK are doing the Apple TV 4k 64mb for £199 and you get the two year guarantee, and a year of Apple TV.

Any other suggestions I should look at? Or does anyone just use the TV builtin apps?

EDIT: Thanks for all the input. I went out and got the Apple TV this morning. All looks great. But my god it took 90 minutes just to sort out and unlock my old Apple accounts!
