Why not many choices of non-smart TV on amazon/flipkart available??

by sexytomy88

After finalising to buy a non-android TV and an android tv box separately, i started looking for the options online. I found: TLC, Sharp, VU brands do not have their non-smart TVs listed on online platforms readily. Only smart TV choices are there, that too with very minimalistic hardware such as 1gb RAM and 8gb HDD. (in 25-28k range)

Sanyo 43 inch ips led non-smart is available, but non-deliverable in many parts of India (including Delhi, Jaipur).

I would like to know if any of you observed similar ?

Yeah, everyone is pushing smart TVs now. I got a TCL Roku TV and set it to switch to HDMI whenever it starts so I get to the Nvidia Shield immediately.

They can't make as much money selling ads for eternity if it's not "smart"

i wish there was more freedom available to customers.

Just buy the size you want with the best picture that fits your budget and just ignore the smart TV part of it. Unless you actually open the smart TV interface on your TV it's basically a non-smart TV.

LG, Samsung and Panasonic have some non smart models. You can check at your place. I also bought a non smart 40 inches Samsung a few years ago thinking I would get an Android box and set it up. Sadly, now I have a non smart TV with fried HDMI ports and that happened before I could buy the android box. Not sure how HDMI ports went kaput. :(
