I've looked a few times for universal remotes that use both IR and Bluetooth that would be good for a setup with Android TV and found maybe the super expensive Harmony and that's about it. I ended up getting a Sideclick, but it's a little awkward having a mini remote clipped to the Mi Remote, and it's limited to the bare essentials.

Has anybody found a good IR and BT combination remote that doesn't break the bank? As more consumers get BT-controlled entertainment devices, it seems like a gap in the market that nobody's making crossovers.

My YouTube TV home market is different than my current location. I updated the YouTube TV app to my current location and the app works as expected, but the 'live' tab is still messed up. The 'On Now' tiles show shows for my current location and can watch them, but the bottom section showing the entire TV listings is showing my home market listings (ie not updated major network local affiliates and not taking time change into account). Youtube TV gives an error when I select any of these channels as it says they can't be watched based on my location. Anyone else experience this?

For about a year now I've been having persistent resolution issues with Netflix. Often it works fine running 1080p and then I'll start another show and it begins in very low resolution (which is normal) but then never improve. I've let it run for 10-20 minutes at 320p and it simply never even tries to ramp up. If I kill Netflix and clear the app data that will usually resolve the issue until it crops up a few shows later.

Originally I was having this issue on a Shield but just recently had it happen on my brand new CCGTV.

Here's some things I've tried:

1. wired
2. wireless
3. completely new router
4. disconnecting every other device from my network
5. factory reset of shield
6. google DNS

No matter what variable I've eliminated the problem always comes back, which makes me think it's ISP issues, but that doesn't explain why it resolves with the app data clear. I've also talked to ISP and Netflix support and they both (obviously) claim everything looks fine.

I have no issues with any other streaming apps (youtube, prime, etc).

Is the Netflix app just junk? Should I just resign myself to clearing the app data every time I want to watch anything?

Any ideas are welcome

I have a Sony OLED TV and was wondering if there was any way to enable frame rate matching for 24p content? My Apple TV does this by default. Is there any app I can download to enable this function?

I'm running Mx player pro on my shield and when I pause a video for 5-10 mins and then start it again, there is no audio. It's muted. I have to close the app and restart it.

I've cleared the cache/data etc but no joany assistance appreciated.

I had some kind of google password issue during the week which required me t change my google password (a few people did). My shield now stops after about 20 mins and requires me to veryfy myself. I have tried everything i can think of including a factory wipe of the device. Anyone any ideas? I love this device but its completely yseless to me currently.

I am thinking about buying the new Google TV to use it as an easier input device for my AVR, which is connected to a projector. While the use of having a sceen (projector on in my case) is pretty straight forward and can be reviewed in multiple articles and youtube videos, I am wondering, if Google TV is also useable without a screen (via an android app ideally).

The reason I am asking is that I would like to use the spotify app while the projector is off, having a single entry point to manage all media related content that is being transferred to the AVR-System.

Also, is the use of Geforce NOW and cloudX natively supported and can be used together with a bluethooth controller like a ps4 or xbox one controller?

Which one should I get. I searched a few threads and it says that I should be able to get Firefox and Chrome, but maybe that's just for the Android TV?

I only use Plex for streaming and currently just use standard Chromecast on my TV (no Android TV). Works fine but like the idea of the remote and on screen app that Android TV would give me (thinking of the new Chromecast with Android TV)

Having never used Android TV before, is there a way to make Plex app auto load and never see any suggestions from other streaming apps? I just want Plex on there all the time.

Is this doable? Or am I going to be disappointed?

It plays fine with 720p 60fps. My current resolution is 1080p 50hz I don't know if it actually make a different.

I am having issues with pairing my remote with the KM1 Mecool android box. It comes up on screen to pair, hold the two buttons down, Led flashes on remote but it won’t pair. Any ideas?

Hi, I've got an Android 8 tv box, My Apps never worked since I have it, to make the section appear I need to press the search button and then pressing the back button. Tried deleting data with no good results. Anyone's got an idea to make it work?

A number of movies, and dozens of TV episodes are missing from my library on the new Chromecast w/Google TV. All of this content is accessible on every other device I own.

I have a support issue open with Chromecast support, but I was curious if this is more widespread.

I have the new chromecast and it's mostly been a dream but when I search it accepts my voice but brings me to a black screen and only goes away if I press home

Picked up 2 of the new Chromecasts w/ GoogleTV and just finished getting the first set up. I don't suppose there's a way to copy my settings and apps over to the second device so I don't need to do everything again?

So I’ve noticed an issue where movies played from my library (especially 4K content) from my movie library in Google Play Movies has the occasion stutter or frame drop. However if I play the same content through the YouTube app they play just fine.

Anyone else seen this issue or have any suggestions? I’ve cleared the cache on the Google Play Movies & TV.

Will any button remapper allow remapping of the remote button to a sideloaded app? Or is it only possible for apps that are visible in the app library?

I'm waiting on my chromecast with Google tv and trying to get my head around not having the usual live TV app I used for my hdhomerun throughout the house on my Android tv boxes. I was originally looking at replacing all my Android tv devices theoughoithe house if this device ticks all the boxes for me.

I understand that the live TV app can be sideloaded but then as per the usual sideloaded app it won't show up in the apps.

Next fall back is trying to see if tasker can see sideloaded apps as I may trigger that way.

Next option is sideload launcher.

Next option is voice commands.

I was using a Puffin browser from playstore but to my shock you actually need to pay to be able to browse.

If there are any with no ads would be great. Apk files are recommended, probably the best ones aren't on official sites.

Had one didn't thing it was anything great. Google TV is the new brand, the new device, and completely seperate.

Is there a quick manual way to switching into Ambient Mode from the home screen? The only way I found is to go to the profile section (upper right) and from there clicking on the rectangle image next to the "Settings" gear.

I am looking for fewer clicks. Even an Ambient Mode shortcut in the apps row would do the trick. Or a voice activated approach, like "Hey Google, switch to ambient mode on Google TV".

I have a Sony Bravia X900E in the 55-inch. It's a beautiful display as I believe most Sony televisions are - but the software support leaves so much to be desired. It's on Android 8 right now I believe:

1. How clear is it that Sony is abandoning us?

2. Should I just be done with it and go GoogleTV Chromecast?

3. What do I stand to lose? This is the biggest question I have.

It sounds like the new GoogleTV Chromecast is based on reported-metrics. They built it support the models and technology that 90% of everyone uses, and I just want to know I'm not in the 10% that are about to be left in the dust because I have some incompatible speaker system or whatever.
