Had one didn't thing it was anything great. Google TV is the new brand, the new device, and completely seperate.
Not sure why someone created a sub reddit to completely lock it down and force us here.

It is not completely separate at all. The moderation team is in control of both subreddits.
Google TV is simply a new interface on top of Android TV (consider it basically a launcher update in all honesty, plus a rebrand). It is the exact same underlying operating system and is an Android TV device in all but name. This subreddit is likely to be full of members who are most likely to have the knowledge to help with Tech Support on the device etc.
Overtime, more devices will get the Google TV interface through updates and more will be launched with it. At that point we will make a decisions which is likely to result in us switching subreddits.
Hope that clears it up.
(Also, we've done our best to make any potential transition as smooth as possible. We had a lot of discussion about what we'd do if this occurred, as soon as the rumours of the rebrand started surfacing. Also, cool fact, Google TV was also the name of Android TV's predecessor, and now it's the name of its successor.)
Don't worry, Google will rename it again in another year or two. The name of the sub becomes arbitrary, and it won't make sense to move/rename every time Google rebrands.
