Google TV - Use without a screen

I am thinking about buying the new Google TV to use it as an easier input device for my AVR, which is connected to a projector. While the use of having a sceen (projector on in my case) is pretty straight forward and can be reviewed in multiple articles and youtube videos, I am wondering, if Google TV is also useable without a screen (via an android app ideally).

The reason I am asking is that I would like to use the spotify app while the projector is off, having a single entry point to manage all media related content that is being transferred to the AVR-System.

Also, is the use of Geforce NOW and cloudX natively supported and can be used together with a bluethooth controller like a ps4 or xbox one controller?

works fine. i have the og cc connected to an hdmi > rca and only use audio. great for yt streams.

Should be possible, you can still cast to it, so apps like Spotify will still treat it as a cast target so no remote required.

I use Xiaomi box casting on my Yamaha AVR non stop. TV is switched off most of the time.
