I'm trying to stream a web based app on my android tv and downloaded puffin to do so but it keeps telling me that I've hit my daily data quota for the day. If I want to continue I have to pay. Is there an alternative app available on the android tv that I could work around this???

Looking for some advice on what device to buy for my bedroom TV. I have a Shield Pro for the main TV and don’t want to spend Shield money. For a TV that won’t get as much use.

I’m in the UK so must have apps are the UK catch up services. BBC, ITV, 4OD, 5OD, UKTV play. As well as Kodi, Netflix, Amazon etc. NowTV would be a bonus but I can cast that so not a big issue as I know sky don’t allow it to be installed on many devices.

Ethernet port would be a bonus.

Not really wanting to spend any more than £60.

Any recommendations?

Is anyone else having the closed captioning come on by itself on videos at random? Sometimes I'll start a video and I'll have to turn off the closed captioning because it's turned itself on.

I've noticed it started doing this in the past month and it's driving me crazy. It doesn't always happen on every video, or a specific channel.

I've looked through the settings in the application and there's not anything that I can find. Any help anyone can provide will ease my sanity lol.

I installed an andoid tv Box on a raspi 4. But I want to use it as a tablet but I'm missing the home and other buttons. Is there an app or something I can do to enable buttons?

I'm hoping to buy a tv box for my dumb LED TV. But I can't decide between Chromecast with Google TV and Tivo Stream 4K. What do you think is better and Why?

Is Android TV now Google TV? Because I can't find any Android TV's anymore?

Switching to a kids Profile on the Google TV causes it to crash restart and crash and restart. Unplugging/restarting the device doesn't fix it as it will just start back in the kids profile. You've got to be quick and catch the switch profiles button before the launcher crashes. Kids profiles are barely a month in service and already unusable. New record google.

Any ideas that don't involve redoing everything?

Watching streaming apps (Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, Amzn Prime), audio starts to stutter. Stop the app & restart it, the stuttering stops.... often starts again a bit after restarting the video. It seems that the remedy is dependent on stopping & restarting the app. Simply pausing & restarting doesn't help. If I hit the circle button (to bring up the dashboard) and reenter the app from there, the stuttering stops.

I don't think it's a bandwidth issue. Torrents on my laptop easily roll at 3+MB/s.

I've seen some posts and tried adjusting settings, but it still happens.

Hello, i usually watch my anime on the TV using an usb stick but recently i've been hitting a wall.

Most if not all recent anime come in stylized softsub which my current TV is not able to well...Stylize. So i'm kind of left with a very white plain text as subs and i barely can read that.

I've tried on multiple samsung SMART TV's even the recent ones ( 2020 ) and it still had the same issue.

I'm planning to get myself a new TV in a few months and wanted to know if Android TV would be able to render the stylized subtitles just fine from USB.

If not, maybe by using VLC ? ( if i can access USB from it )

If it's the case, please recommend me a good Android TV ( i watch 1080p H264 i assume )

I just got a CCWGTV to replace my Amazon Fire Stick 4k, I hated the new Amazon update. Anyway I assumed on CCWGTV I could get any AndroidTV app, however I cannot get Locast which I use for local TV. Also Nick Jr which my kids like. I searched for both on CCWGTV and cannot find them. Any help??

I really, really like Android TV (OS). But my current TV is just not cutting it. I’m not complaining. I knew going in that a budget TV was going to give me issues eventually. I just wanted to give Android TV a try and see if I liked it and I needed a cheap set for then and there.

Well, I’ve fallen in love with the OS. And I’m ready to purchase something long term. Can anyone give me their personal experiences with sets that perform well, and continue to perform well over time? I really want something that won’t slow down to a crawl on me after a few months of use. I’ve heard good things about Sony of course, anything else to consider?
