Device for bedroom TV.

by Lyceumhq

Looking for some advice on what device to buy for my bedroom TV. I have a Shield Pro for the main TV and don’t want to spend Shield money. For a TV that won’t get as much use.

I’m in the UK so must have apps are the UK catch up services. BBC, ITV, 4OD, 5OD, UKTV play. As well as Kodi, Netflix, Amazon etc. NowTV would be a bonus but I can cast that so not a big issue as I know sky don’t allow it to be installed on many devices.

Ethernet port would be a bonus.

Not really wanting to spend any more than £60.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!

'Chromecast with Google TV' or Firestick 4k.

Look at the new Google TV Chromecast thingy

Mecool KM2. Google and Netflix certified and almost as good as a Shield for around £60 or less. I have the older Km9pro and it's been great so far. I haven't used the new Chromecast but it doesn't have ethernet and is nowhere near as powerful as a good standalone box.

I have a Chromecast with GoogleTV and have really enjoyed it. We cut the cord a long time ago and now have about 3 or 4 different streaming services. The one thing I love about the CCwGTV is the searching across different platforms/services, it works really well. Plus if WiFi coverage does stink, you can always add on ethernet port - https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast_ethernet_adapter_gen_2?hl=en-US

With that budget, I'd go for a Google Chromecast with Google TV, then 4k FireTV stick, then Mi-Box.
