Did Google include Auto framerate / refresh rate in latest Android TV 12 Beta? Can someone with ADT-3 check that?

Hey all! Recently my family purchased a new 65" Samsung TU8000, and we absolutely despise the Tizen smart TV interface. It's clunky, missing apps, and it's just not a fun time. Inversely, we have a lower-end TLC TV upstairs that has pretty much barebones Android TV on it, and we absolutely love it. I'm sure this has been asked before, but how can I load Android onto the Samsung? I know it can be done since I've heard it's similar to rooting a modern smartphone or something similar, but I would feel much more comfortable if there were a proper guide or something I could follow. If anyone can help out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. - If this is the wrong place to ask about this, can I be guided to the correct place?

Hi, I am facing a strange issue with TCL43p715 (TCL 43 Inch Android smart TV). When I try to access YouTube it works only approx. 5 out of 10 attempts which is so annoying. Specifically for example, when YouTube is working fine and I switch off the TV after watching; Immediately after restarting the TV, YouTube wont open up and wont load any content.

What can be the probable cause of this problem? YouTube does not open up and does not load any content. App store also does not shows any icons loading, mostly are grayed icons without app logos being loaded.

I think there is some problem that is causing all google apps apps and app store not to load or function on smart tv. Anyone else who is facing this issue or what can be the solution?

They only show when I am accessing the menu during playback. Any setting to fix it?

This is more of a rant. Any idea why is there such poor and terrible androidtv optimised apps? ATV is running android V9 and behaving it still is on gingerbread ecosystem. This crap is driving me nuts.

For one, it is such a crappy headache to stream something from a mobile device to the android tv box (I have a mibox 3). Does not connect without a couple of restarts. Clearing data or cache does not help. This is some hardcore level crap that is happening.

Then comes the part where there is no bloody web browser that works. This is really really lame. Video cannot be streamed at all on any sideloaded apps (TV Bro, Chrome, Firefox) but it can on a shitty interfaced browser on my hisense tv. What the hell is happening? The specs on this device is something else and the output is merely a joke of it.

I can move to a new device like the shield tv or the google tv but will it make a difference?

I'm about to break something, it's so frustrating. Just wanted to watch a movie, but nope.

I have a Samsung Soundbar that uses an optical cable and a Xiaomi TV 43". It worked before I updated the stupid TV.

I've pulled every other cable out, put speakers on the TV to S/PDIF. I've turned the TV off and on, pulled out the TV and back on. No problem with the Soundbar, just TV. Help me before I'll just break the thing.

Eventually bought a mi tv stick and have the following problems and instantly regret wasting money on this device:

1. Wifi 5Ghz difficult to connect to and reception very weak, loses connection after a reboot and need to unplug the power to reconnect. 2.4 GHZ no problem but it interferes with the bluetooth speaker transmission (no problems connecting my other devices - firetv sticks, pc's to wifi network)

2. Bluetooth mouse can be paired but after each reboot need to pair the bluetooth mouse again.

3. Cant use a usb mouse.

4. Install chrome browser freezes up the mi tv stick device, no such problem on the 1gb version of firetv stick 2nd gen or the new one.

Anyone considering buying this mi tv stick should avoid and rather consider the amazon firetv stick, it is the same price and the performance is far superior.

Is have some way to watch? I’ve bough an iPhone and got it 1 year of Apple TV for free, but I have a TCL and there is no app on play store.

On my old Philips smart tv (AndroidTV), I could access movies from my Dropbox account through ‘Network’. There was a dedicated Dropbox login.

My new Philips tv no longer has Android as its OS, but the totally shitty and unstable Saphi OS, so now I use the TV exclusively with a Chromecast with Google TV (which works great, love it). The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to access my movies in my Dropbox account from the Google TV. There’s no AndroidTV Dropbox app, and the same goes for the Infuse media player I use on iOS (which can play movies directlt from Dropbox). VLC exists, but couldn’t access Dropbox folders.

There’s tons of file managers, but I find it difficult to differentiate between the good and the crappy ones.

How do you access Dropbox content on AndroidTV? Is there a way I haven’t found yet? A specific app? Thanks for your help!

Why does my TV have issues playing movies Whenever I try casting movies from my iPhone the dialogue are lower than soundtracks. Youtube doesn’t have this issue tho

I have tried the standard step I. E Developer options - - > USB Debugging option ( But it's grayed out)

I'm unable to turn the USB Debugging Button ON.

It also has an interesting option of "Make this device USB host"

I’ve got a side loaded app that keeps getting removed by Google I’m assuming. I’ve turned off the verify apps setting under device > security (which I saw on YouTube is how to disable Play Protect) and it’s still happening. Anyway to prevent this from happening in the future? Really hate that it’s able to do this without any warning or user interaction. If I install the app there it means I want it there and accept any risk that comes with it.

Like the Title says, i use my kd65xe9005 mainly for Youtube and it freezes/stops. I dont mind the adds, But what bothers me are the freezes with every ad.

I Start the Video, it will play for a while, After 5-10min there comes the Ad Countdown and when the App should load, i get a Black screen and thats it.

I can press the Back Button on my Remote to be back in the Youtube App, But After i Start a Video, its the same Story.

What can i do?

I do understand that Goggle has placed a restriction on streaming boxes -third party apps( TVs and phones, tablets, etc) and I do understand that the culprit is Play Protection. It's disturbing that Google gets to dictate what I do or do not download on my box. And yes, I've gone into the "Developer" area...made corrections. Login to Google Play on computer - the illusive " Play Protect" is no where to be found other than - it's on and congrats!

I've seen several videos on how to disable - but when I go into Google Play - on my Mi - the option to opt out is not there. Please advice and thank you.
