Because Youtube doesn't output DD+ but stereo where as Netflix provides DD+ output. Check if Audio Passthrough is enabled and if your sound system has dynamic range control (may be named as night mode) turn it ON.
Probably the TV is doing something dumb with the 5.1 mix. If you don't have surround sound then turn off Dolby Digital (if your TV has that setting) and then everything should cast as good ol stereo.
