Unfortunately, SmartTube is now choppy and blinking in all my Mi Boxes, forcing me to abandon it and use SmartTube Next and there's some things that are really bugging me.

SmartTube Next doesn't save my search history, in the old app I only need to type a few letters before finding some old query. I use both apps not signed on, maybe that's the problem.

The new player menu is really bad: when you bring it up the play/pause button is the one active, but it's not highlighted at first, only after it's pressed. The repeat/keep playing button is always red. Also the channel button is hidden in the middle and doesn't use the channel's icon.

I couldn't find a way to set a default resolution, I like to keep it as 720p change it up on a video basis.

Maybe some of these things are fixable and I'm doing something wrong, would like some ideas from other users.

It's flickering a LOT, a lot of trace lines popping up. It's worked fine for a few months, I did update it recently though. Any fix?

I have a 4K HDR video and my TV Specifications say that it supports HDR10. Is there any way to confirm that I'm actually watching the video in HDR.

I'll begin with some information that's relevant to the problem. I bought my android tv (a Hitachi) about 3/4 weeks ago. everything worked, connected to my wifi, etc etc.

Went on vacation for a week and came home today, TV was disconnected from the Wifi. It still appeared as available, but when trying to connect it, it would say "wifi network not found". I forgot the connection and set it up again, but got the same result. Unplugged and plugged the router, still same result. After that, just turned off my tv's WiFi and back on, and now it can't find any wifi. not mine, but it doesn't show my neighbor's wifi connections either.

Reset the router but nothing happened. Does anyone know what to do? can't do anything on it now since almost every app requires an internet connection :/

The generic Android players on Amazon don't seem to have consistently good ratings.

I'm buying something because the Sony 65XBR950G just doesn't have enough power to deal with higher bit rate audio when higher bit rate video (4k) is being played.

Some movies it's fine. Others it's just not working out.

Again no internet where it's going to be used. I'd prefer to stay under $100, or else I'd get a Shield.

Just got a new TV (Polaroid 4K 50') and I can't download any new apps or update the existing ones. Whenever I try it just says "pending" indefinitely. I've searched online for solutions, most of which say to delete the cache from Google play/play services/download manager or uninstall the updates, neither of which have worked. The TV is brand new and has plenty of storage space, any ideas on how to fix this?

EDIT: The issue with solved when I added my other Google account to the tv.

The reason why I originally purchased the Nvidia Shield was because it was at the top of all of the best tv box lists. I have the new Google with Chromecast, it's cool but not enough storage Not an Apple guy, and I have Rokus around the house, they're fine but limited too. My Shield has been crap, the remote freezes, videos don't load, before I replace it, I'd like to know if there something better?

So I sold my shield and been looking at the china boxes. I have notices they say andriod tv pie. What is the difference from a pie and not pie like Nvidia shield

So this is a strange issue. If I have my Nvidia Shield TV powered off and I open Spotify on my Android phone and start playing a song, the Nvidia Shield TV automatically powers on, resuming whatever it was doing prior to powering off. For example, it may power on automatically and resume playing a YouTube video from before.

I've tried deleting the Spotify app from the Shield TV, thinking maybe it had something to do with Spotify Connect despite playing the song on the Android phone and not via the Shield/Spotify Connect. Despite Spotify now being deleted from the Shield, the same behaviour persists with auto power on of the Shield and TV.

It's worth nothing that I have two Nvidia Shields and this issue always and only happens with just the one Shield.

Wondering if anyone else has this issue or has seen this and is aware of a fix?

So hello, Few months ago my parents bought some android tv and i thought it would be great until i booted it… it doesnt have any kind of google play apps nothing, i tried installing play store it wouldnt let me sign in and i thought installing google play services would help but it crashed every 2 seconds saying that it wasnt responding. I use an Acer Travelmate with Mashita DVD-ram UJ8HC built in. When I put a DVD, it recognises the DVD, but not to play with it, but as a removable storage device. How can I use my built in DVD player to play DVDs on my Acer Travelmate with Android TV 9 installed.?

I already tried replacing the batteries and still not working, before it just works again but now i’d like to have a personal fix on this, any help is greatly appreciated

I'm trying to get my kids (7 and 5) to experience my childhood classics on SNES.

I found the ROMS, but I'm struggling with the emulator itself. I downloaded RetroArch but it's really complicated and buggy.

I don't mind spending some time to set it all up correctly, but once ready it has to be easy for the kids (who can't read english).

I want to side load popcorn time but I don’t want to void my Tv’s warranty. I spoke to customer service and they told me it counts as manipulating the device so the warranty would be lost. If I go ahead and side load the apk, and end up having any issue with my tv (broken display for example), could I reset the TV to factory settings so any evidence of this “manipulation” would be lost? Is it possible to erase all traces of a sideloaded app?

I would also like to side load YouTube Vanced or similar to block YouTube ads?

I have a brand new Android TV (TCL P715) and a VPN subscription. I downloaded the app using the Google Play Store and when I try to connect to a server, it asks for my permission with a pop up dialog box but I can't press "OK". I can't press "Cancel" either. Everything else is working without a problem. I tried a different VPN app and still got the same thing. What could be causing this? Reinstalling didn't work.

My wife and i have separate profiles on all our streaming services (Apple, Netflix, D+, P+, Hulu, etc). I love the idea of content discovery on Chromecast with Google TV and set up separate profiles for my Wife and I. It seems though when you click to watch something, it goes directly to the last used profile on the streaming service. Does it remember which profile was used per profile, or will it always use the last profile? Seems like this will poison the in app discovery and watch lists. Especially a problem since we only have GTV on our main tv, and the other tvs still have Roku. Just about to cut the cord and trying to figure this out before i return the equipment
