Help me find a good 4K USB3 player?

by ChrisP2a

No internet where it's going to be used.

The generic Android players on Amazon don't seem to have consistently good ratings.

I'm buying something because the Sony 65XBR950G just doesn't have enough power to deal with higher bit rate audio when higher bit rate video (4k) is being played.

Some movies it's fine. Others it's just not working out.

Again no internet where it's going to be used. I'd prefer to stay under $100, or else I'd get a Shield.

Any advice? Thank you!

It'll all depend on what codecs you need support for,. Also how many frames per second.

Ie some s905x* devices will only support h264 at 30 frames per second not 60.

If you use h265 ( as you should be) you'll have less issues. As for your price range I really don't know what the best option would be

I would definitely look into the full codec support but I’ve never had problems with my Xbox one s playing video files you could probably find a used one for pretty cheap plus you could even play some games if you wanted. I’m also pretty sure there’s a vlc app if the built in media player dosnt cut it
