We have a chromecast with Google/Android TV installed. When watching BBC iPlayer, it seems to switch to ‘screensaver’ mode for no reason.

The app doesn’t crash, as soon as you press a button the app carries on back in the same place as though it’s been paused. It’s doesn’t happen to any other apps though - any ideas as to why this is happening and a way to fix it?

I bought a used one and I am having trouble with the colors. Everything is washed out with a yellowish tone. Dark colors are pixelated and inky. I’ve fiddled with all of the settings, tried to do it manually, and have read whatever I could online to solve it but I can’t get a better color display than what I have now.

Does anyone have any advice or know of a manual way to make the picture better?

Hi I need some help please I have a smart TV running Android and I want to install Android TV instead of Android Is this possible?

I want to cast the screen from one of the PC's to multiple TV devices. Those TV's will be connected to the same LAN as the PC. I wouldn't like to limit just to video streaming, sometimes there will be a need to show some PowerPoint presentation or similar.

Is there some software that enables this or could I achieve this with Chromecast?

I’m staying on a hotel for a few days and brought my mi box with me but i forgot my remote at home and since it doesn’t have the hotels wifi I can’t use my remote app to connect to it nor I have any mouse or keyboard with me is there another way i can have access to it so I can connect it to the wifi

I have a USB HDMI capture video adaptor that I use in my android tv box and all I want is a simple android tv app that does nothing but show the stream of the connected hdmi device when the app opens. Can anyone guide me on how to build such an app? There are apps on the play store that comes close, but nothing that is clean and simple as the app I am looking for. Anyone who can help me build this? I haven't done coding in a long time but I can manage my way around with some guidance.

Hisense 43A6G running Android TV

This started happening just recently. After waking up via the remote, the first 5-15 minutes or so it seems like every app I try to use exhibits connectivity issues and simply cant load anything. This includes apps like Youtube, Plex, Twitch, Pluto TV, etc.. Once this passes everything operates fine for the remainder of that power on period.

The only thing I can think of that has changed is I recently got IPV6 all set up and configured correctly on my router (Ubiquiti ER-X, ISP is Spectrum). All other devices behave perfectly with this change and I can confirm the TV shows it has both a public IPV6 address and private routable IPV4. TV is hardwired with Wifi disabled.

Anyone else run into this and have any ideas?

I have a media file 1080p 60 fps but the VCL player don’t show me the 60 fps.. on laptop OK , iPhone OK, iPad OK .. but on Mecool KM2 don’t … is any setup to force VCL or any other app to play this kind of file?

Hi, just got my sony x90j and it has google tv. So the system is great, but the assistant is narrating my app searches. Like I search for netflix for example and it says :"here is netflix" Or "no results".. Very annoying..

Granted, you do not search for new apps on the daily, but is there a way to turn it off? Talkback is disabled by the way..

I have a large library, but it's getting annoying to have Plex crash two or three times before I can successfully navigate to the movie I want and start it. Once it's playing it's fine.

Do all Android TV devices have this issue, or is it just the Chromecast? I'll happily buy a new device if it fixes this issue.

I wanted to know if it can bitstream 7.1 lossless audio (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD) or does it output 7.1 LPCM ? This box looks like the perfect replacement for my Shield TV Pro 2019 and Apple TV 4K 2021. I do wish it came in black/dark gray but not a deal breaker with the specs it has (Amlogic S905X4, 4GB RAM/32GB flash, AV1 decoding, gigabit LAN, Widevine Level 1, Android TV 11, Dolby Vision, etc.).

for whatever reason, my Nvidia Shield's audio just died. can see video but absolutely no audio. I am ready to dump this thing after 2 hours of troubleshooting with googling and youtubing.

is there any android box with 4K that can easily side load apps, usb3 for ext hard drive, Play store out of the box, good for movies, i dont care too much for gaming.

Has anyone else not received the profiles update yet? I've tried updating my system but it always says "Your system is up to date".

So, I had the latest version of Disney + app installed on my Chromecast and the subtitles are awful to read. The font edges are blacking out the characters and the size is too small. I don't see the option to edit the appearance of subtitles anywhere. I checked my phone app and couldn't edit there either.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I do not care about games and my tv already has all the streaming services (though I wouldn't care if it did support it just so I didn't have to change interfaces). I use kodi typically and I do not care about anything fancy like posters etc.

Even after setting up the Last input for Power On Mode from the hidden TCL menu, whenever I turn off and turn on the TV after a couple of hours, it boots in TV/HDMI input. I always have to select Android home input manually.

I don’t unplug the power cable and always turn off TV in Android home interface. Contacted TCL support and they told me to reset the TV. Nothing happened. Can anyone help me?

I am my only Google TV user, but from what I've read the profile selection situation has been long requested by many. Which is understandable if you're sharing the device between multiple people.

Well, I just got the update. Problem is however, that whereas before where I had my Google account attached to my Google TV, I could select a different profile/e-mail address for the Youtube app. I have multiple different Youtube accounts. Now when I open the Youtube app it opens with the same Google account linked to the main Google TV and when I want to switch accounts or log in within youtube it only lets me choose Google TV profiles.

That would mean I would have to switch Google TV profiles everytime I want to watch a video through the app (50% of what I use my chromecast for) which is utter trash compared to my previous situation where everything was integrated and it was one seamless experience. Of the 8 buttons on my remote 1 just was rendered obsolete.

It makes me want to rip out my chromecast and throw it out the window tbh. It's infuriating. Does anyone have a possible solution to my problem?
