If you have a 2nd phone, tablet, or PC.....You can try spoofing your home network...

Create a Wifi HotspotIf you took your Shield TV, Mi Stick, or Mi Box for vacation and forgot your remote at home, there's still an option. As I mentioned earlier that your Android TV automatically turns on and connects to your home Wi-Fi network, we can use this feature to our advantage. So the trick here is to create a WiFi hotspot with the same network name and password as the old network. This will trick Android TV into thinking it's the old network and it will connect to it automatically. You can then use the app to change the Wi-Fi network.First of all, you will need two devices – a smartphone to control Android TV via the app and a computer or smartphone to create a hotspot. To create a WiFi hotspot, you can use a Mac, Windows, or Android smartphone. Unfortunately, the iPhone does not allow you to change the name of the WiFi network.for a purpose Annotation ،I will use two Android smartphones, one to control the TV and one to create Wi-Fi hotspot. Both Wi-Fi name and password details are case sensitive, make sure you enter the correct details. Go to Settings app on your phone -> Find Mobile Hotspot & Tethering -> Tap Hotspot Credentials. What to do if you lost your Android TV remote control - Android TVCreate a new hotspot with the same network name and password that your Android TV is connected to at home. It should automatically connect to the Wifi hotspot you just created. You can now use another phone to navigate your Android TV using the Android TV Remote app as described in the second method.

Have you tried the Android TV Remote app?

Edit: oh never mind, I think you need it to be in the same wifi as your phone… seems complicated.

I think you can still control with adb, but you’ll probably need usb male to male cable to connect to your laptop first. Assuming you’ve already enabled usb debugging before this
