Hi everyone, I have a Sony Android TV, and have used a VPN app in the past. It was always a little unstable (used to hard boot on startup if put in standby with the VPN on) however used to work reliably when watching TV.

There was an update last week, and the layout of the TV has entirely changed (not sure if it is just Sony or all Android TVs). Since then, the VPN application has become extremely unstable, causing a random reboot of the TV a few minutes later. I have tried NordVPN appication, and also configured OpenVPN, with the same results.

Does anyone know a solution to this? My router cannot be set up to run VPN, and I like how it is easy to toggle on and off with a built in app...

I hope I'm not the only one who experienced this.

I use a USB to Ethernet adapter/hub to hard wire my Mi box to my network so it's a more stable connection and better performance.

But it seems to get worse performance than wireless at 2.4 or 5 ghz.

I have a USB drive connected to my router and I noticed that with the ethernet adapter, whatever video I'm watching on my Mi Box (through Kodi), the video would eventually freeze up. Disconnecting the ethernet adapter and going on 5ghz wireless solves the issue. No freeze ups when playing a video from a USB drive on my router.

I thought a wired connection would be faster/more stable than wireless?

Hello, i'm looking for an android box that plays well with netflix, this means: 1) has netflix support (HD), 2) can download netflix shows 3) supports external sd card as internal storage 4) cheap

Hey guys, I recently brought a Toshiba android TV (43U7850AZ) (Android 8.0) (MT5891) so far I'm actually pretty happy with it. There is a problem, however, and that is that the volume is set way too loud. Volume setting 1 on my TV is probably the equivalent of 20 on other TV's. I have tried fixing this by installing apps such as Fine Volume Control and Precise Volume, these, however, did not work. I then learnt about engineering mode which apparently lets you change the volume on the hardware. I then tried installing several MTK engineering apps but these didn't work / fail to run. The only other way to enter engineer mode from what a can tell is to type a certain code in your dialer which I've course Android TV doesn't have. I am now at my wits end!

Could anyone please tell me a way to fix the volume on my TV? There surely has to be some kind of solution to this? Thank you to anyone that helps. :)

I came from Roku where the ecosystem is huge so that's the only gripe so far. I had to sideload apps like Mediafire and even Google Drive. I do like I can use a VPN and search the web on it with relative ease (as long as I have the keyboard)

It just blows my mind there are so few devices with Chromecast built-in. I am really excited to see what Nvida churns out as far as new devices go. Is there any idea what they might be?

I have a TV integrated with Roku, but I don't really like it because it's a little slow, can't stream my windows laptop to it (It supports casting, but it just doesn't work on my laptop and a lot of people can't get it to work).

That said, do you guys have any recommendations for an Android TV Box that can do the following:

- Cast my Windows 10 desktop + PC Audio to my TV Reliably and Fast?

- Has optical out so I can play high fidelity audio to my KEF LS50w speakers?

I got myself an h96 max x2 tv box with android tv 8.1 os. The screen is too zoomed in and i cant change it. Usually i would go to screen position for this but there is no droid settings on the settings. Nor on the display...

Any help would be thanked a lot! :)

I'm in a country where amazon doesn't sell the 4K version, the basic one costs 30$ but without volume control it doesn't seem like a bargain. I don't plan to use it in 4K but i'm afraid the basic version wont be powerfull enough for iptv and plex.

I'd like to buy something in this range, the 70$ mi Box is just to expensive where I live.

I guess it's not exactly an androidTv device but because it runs on the same OS i'd like your opinion.

AT&T has their own Android TV powered box which is being beta tested by a number of people. Recently they updated the 'DirecTV Now' app to 'AT&T TV Now' in that Beta box.

Hi. How can I control my Android TV from my computer? I tried Teamviewer. It says that I should be able to control my ATV box, but I have to send them an e-mail(?). Looks like it is not supported since they lack some sort of support.

ATV is rooted. Is there anything I can do? I mostly looking at "taking over the screen". Being able to browse the menus, and also use the web browser. I am helping my friend play at a bookmaker, so I need to be able to log in from his IP, and if there was a way to control Chrome from my mac from my home that would be fantastic.

Any updates about the official Prime Video app for Android TV? From July casting is available but I still prefer using my Mi Box S indipendently from my smartphone. I really want a native app on the Play Store and I'm too lazy to install the APK. I'm still waiting the official release

I just got a Philips 43PUS7304 and it seems this year’s model remote doesn’t have a physical keyboard on its back. I would like to know if there are any phone apps that can resolve this problem.

Bought a 50PUS7504 Philips ambilight t.v. and it's running Android 9. The darn smart Android it has works like a charm except for not omitting the sound. I hooked up my Android box seperetaly and that works like a charm.... What do I do?
