As we go through this journey, we need to figure out how to get our family photos to the TV. On the Apple TV, we just open the photos app and there are all of our photos and videos. Does Android TV have a similar app?

I'm currently having a hard time to get 5.1 sound from netflix.
Took me a while to figure out, that Netflix uses DD+ (EAC3) and that my old receiver (no HDMI) was not able to get this over SPDIF (toslink).
So I replaced it with an AV receiver (Onkyo SR-508) which supports DD+.

Setup is: MiBox > Receiver > TV
So no pass-through/ARC

I got DD+ working when playing a file with Plex. (afaik Plex does not transcode)
Still in Netflix I only get PCM sound. (no 5.1)

Any idea?

I would really love to be able to share video links of videos I'm watching on Android TV to my contacts, or at least to my phone. Anything exist to do this? I often find myself discovering content (usually YouTube) and want to share it to contacts quickly. At the moment, I find myself having to open the YouTube app and the history section and sharing the video from there

Considering picking up a Shield TV to attach to my 2015 Bravo's Android TV (it's getting slow). Does the Freeview android work with Android TV?

I've been using Chromecasts as my main streaming device since it's launch but yesterday I got my first Android TV: the Hisense H8F. The issue i'm having is after the TV has been off for a bit the TV disappears as a casting device plus if I ask my Google Homes to turn it on it will say the device (living room TV) is unavailable. Is this common? I do have the setting "wake on Cast" turned on but I have wake on WAN turned off.

EDIT: using my app for my router I can see the TV isn't showing up as online. I'll test turning back on that wake on wireless network option.

EDIT 2: it seems what have solved this issue for me is turning on "wake on wireless network" which makes but I guess I thought wake on cast overrode that somehow.

I have a shield tv, and since the newest update, has some apps work strange with the Android remote app? Hulu doesn't work with the remote app on my phone (note 8) and tablet (shield), so I have to use the remote or controller...

I tried AMD link streaming with R290 and Xiaomi Mi Box 3, frame drops were too much and latency was too high to play.

I placed an Android phone right next to Mi box and the phone streamed the desktop just fine, there were no drops and latency was low and that was at the highest quality settings.

So obviously this is a problem with the Xiaomi Mi box 3. Which Android TV box did have the best experience with?

For some reason when I ask my Android TV to play something on YouTube TV it says it can't find the program. It used to work fine when I had a separate Chromecast. Am I missing something?

Is anyone having the issue of Dynamic Range Control not working when using a soundbar? I have set the DRC options to RF for Dolby Digital and 100% for DTS.

It works absolutely fine when using the internal speakers of the TV. I tried Batman Begins (DTS-audio) and it levels out the audio perfectly but when I use the soundbar the effects are about to bring the house down while the dialogue is nowhere close to the rest. It's extremely annoying.

What's the issue here?

Hi. I was just about to buy this game and saw its no longer on the play store. Not just Android TV but my phone's one too. Does anyone know what happened to it?

I've had trouble starting any films/shows on my Sony Bravia Android TV running Oreo.

Not can I Chromecast Netflix from my phone to the TV.

I've signed out and back in.

Force Closed the app

Cleared storage for the app

Uninstalled updates and reinstalled from the Play store

Yet it still get suck loading any video at either 99% or 24%.

The network test in the Netflix app shows all green on connectivity, with a download speed of over 110 Mbps.

Anyone else having issues?

I have an LG Magic Remote ("Wii-Like") and I believe it talks Bluetooth. When I search for Bluetooth devices on my new Android TV I can see the Magic Remote, but when I want to connect is asks me for a pairing PIN which I don't have.

Ideas?

Has anyone successfully paired an LG Magic Remote with some other Bluetooth Device?
