Nexus player here, can't even open it.
Doesn't accept my G20 remote which uses the Kayboard {Enter} key for the center button (I guess for platform compatibility). Can't get passed log-in screen.
Half the time, the new app doesn't let me go beyond the profile selection screen. Picking a profile just doesn't work.
Anyone else seeing the same issue? Nvidia Shield user here.
I posted this link as a reply to some comments, but maybe it's best posted as a reply to the OP? For those having issues with non-nvidia remotes and the inability to use the "select" button, here's some info: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/shield-tv/9/306362/update-80-unable-to-login-to-the-new-hulu-app/#6128759
Newest update won’t let me sign in on my shield.
Previous version worked out of home now with the update can't get past the pop-up of being out of my home zip code.
This is seriously blowing my mind. I had given up on them ever updating.
One thing it STILL won't do: accept keyboard input. Let me search with my keyboard, damn you!
I don't use the Live TV option but it's great to know that I could if I wanted now.
Is this available on fire tv?
Edit: fire tv has had this interface for months holy crap I had no idea ATV users had it so bad
I've also been having issues selecting things (like my profile or advancing in the menu) with my 3rd party remote. It works fine with my TV remote so I'm not completely blocked, but it's annoying having to switch remotes for one app.
I'm betting it's the keyboard/enter button mapping issue that another commenter mentioned.
The selected item "overline" is super annoying.
And why tf does the text have to be so big on everything?
Got the update on my h8F last night
Profiles? Finally?
I was worried performance of this would be worse than the old app and I'm right. On old hardware it's sluggish because there are so many transitions.
Too bad it's been awful since release.
While the interface is less than perfect, the improvements to the performance of the app on Nvidia Shield is huge. We finally have surround sound support and the app is no longer getting "stuck" at low bit-rate resolutions. The trade-off is worth it.
Anyone else get infuriated when you try to watch something you've watched before, it maybe has 60 seconds left running time, and Hulu starts it from that point and doesn't restart?
Very similar to what Samsung smart TV had for months now.
It feels like 2017!
I'm so pumped. I have ALL my entertainment apps on one device now. No longer having to switch to Xbox to watch Hulu, and then back to shield to watch Philo or whatever. This is awesome. I'm a happy guy!
You know what would REALLY make Hulu amazing?
If it were available in more than ONE country -.-
Would be nice if it didn’t crash instantly on me :/ oh well
Worked great on my Mi Box S
Really à strong update. With 5.1 sound making it better than the apple tv version.
i haven't tried yet today, but last night right after it updated i couldn't play a single thing on my Mibox. Error code after error code. Reboot, error code. Uninstall/reinstall. Error code.
And here I was thinking version at Fire TV was older since it had horrible usability. Now I realize that was the newer version :(
Why do every UI designer thinks we need big texts with less info on screen. It is a freaking media browser app.
Hulu has 5.1 sound now? 😳
Hate the bright colors. In a dark room it's overwhelming.
Not yet available for AirTV Player.
I sideloaded the new APK and it opens but the background graphic glitches and looks corrupted and makes it hard to read anything and eventually crashes. Hope they support more devices soon especially with Disney+ coming out later this year.
The update is prettier but less functional. You can see far fewer shows at once :(
