The HiSense H8F (50, 55, 65) and H9F (55, 65) android TVs are on sale at best buy, and I am considering purchasing one of them. I have been looking at TVs for a while now, and these seem like a good deal (H8F 329, 399, and 599, H9F 55 is 599).
EDIT: Sam's Club has a Magnavox 55" for 220 - looks like a dumb TV. I could do that +nVidia Shield for about the same price as the H8F.
I have two old TVs - 37 inch 720P (10+years old) and one 50 inch TCL roku TV 1080P. I found the built in TCL roku too slow, and upgraded to an ultra. I also bought an nVidia Shield TV. I find that the shield works well, as does the ultra, but the built in smart function of the TCL TV is slow (I have the shield on it). Most of my TV is youtube TV or Philo.
I know that another shield is the best option, but I am wondering if the HiSense TV will be satisfactory. I am interested in the new shield whenever that drops, as well as whatever google may put out (I had a nexus player that died).
I have multiple smart speakers with google assistant, smart bulbs, etc.
My neighbor purchased a sharp android TV, and it had a lot of bloatware that could not be disabled/removed, which I do not want to deal with - that would be a deal-breaker for me.
I read a little bit about the ULED technology, and it seems interesting, if not as good as OLED.
I'm just looking for a little guidance from the community on these TVs, as well as in general.
Thank you.
