Can't login to my deezer account on Android Tv

Tried to post this on Deezer subreddit but it was removed

Finally decided to subscribe to Deezer premium after years of using free account, currently on the one month free to be billed in late October and it says I can be logged in on 3 devices.

The premium account is fine on my phone but on my android TV (Sony x95G) it was stuck on free account so I decided to log out and log back in to see if it'd update.

Problem is now I can't log back in, I've tried all the various methods of logging in- QR code/email and it just gets says connecting... and after a minute reverts to log in page.

I've cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, logged off from other devices and still can't login. After trying logging in, the TV usually appears as a connected device with the correct timestamp when I check for connected devices through my phone yet it can't login. I've also deleted it and tried to log in again with no success

I'm losing my shit here as I love listening to music directly from my TV (casting still works).

Has anyone experienced this issue, is it the app, the TV, or because I'm yet to be billed, only thing I haven't tried is to factory reset the TV coz I'm too lazy to reinstall my multiple kodi add-ons and other preferences on other apps.

HiSense TVs on sale at Best Buy

The HiSense H8F (50, 55, 65) and H9F (55, 65) android TVs are on sale at best buy, and I am considering purchasing one of them. I have been looking at TVs for a while now, and these seem like a good deal (H8F 329, 399, and 599, H9F 55 is 599).

EDIT: Sam's Club has a Magnavox 55" for 220 - looks like a dumb TV. I could do that +nVidia Shield for about the same price as the H8F.

I have two old TVs - 37 inch 720P (10+years old) and one 50 inch TCL roku TV 1080P. I found the built in TCL roku too slow, and upgraded to an ultra. I also bought an nVidia Shield TV. I find that the shield works well, as does the ultra, but the built in smart function of the TCL TV is slow (I have the shield on it). Most of my TV is youtube TV or Philo.

I know that another shield is the best option, but I am wondering if the HiSense TV will be satisfactory. I am interested in the new shield whenever that drops, as well as whatever google may put out (I had a nexus player that died). I have multiple smart speakers with google assistant, smart bulbs, etc.

My neighbor purchased a sharp android TV, and it had a lot of bloatware that could not be disabled/removed, which I do not want to deal with - that would be a deal-breaker for me.

I read a little bit about the ULED technology, and it seems interesting, if not as good as OLED.

I'm just looking for a little guidance from the community on these TVs, as well as in general.

Thank you.

Ways to remotely lock/unlock Android TV?

Looking for some creative solutions for being able to lock and unlock use of my NVidia SHIELD TV remotely. I don't want to shut it down completely (my SmartThings hub is run by it), so nothing in the realm of a remote power control, but something akin to parental controls such as Family Link that let me lock interaction.

Use case so that you understand context (please no parenting advice; like every parent and family, my situation has its own unique challenges): My 11-year-old son with severe ADHD gets home from school many hours before I do. I have the Switch, Xbox, and his computer on time limits that I unlock once he's done his homework and chores, but now once he gets home he's moved to simply turning on the TV for "just a few minutes" that will magically morph into hours, and before you know it I'm home and his homework and chores haven't even begun and he doesn't have enough time to complete them.

I would *love* to have a life where I or second parent who doesn't exist could be home to watch and manage this and assist him and ensure it all gets done, but I'd also love $32 million, a maid, a pony, and a Bugatti Chiron. I make do with the reality I have, which is one with a lot of checking my Arlo camera from work, calling him, and micro-managing from afar with virtual doors I can unlock for him as he earns them.

So does anyone have any either direct and easy solutions I've missed on my own, or creative workarounds I might not have thought of, to be able to achieve this?

Thanks!

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not currently aware of ANY way to lock the SHIELD TV, much less do so remotely. I need something that will let me, from offsite, render the SHIELD TV locally unusable without me unlocking it again remotely, all without killing its internet connection.

I know FireTV (actual TV) also has a modified version of Android built in. Are there other TV's with a modified Android OS?

Anyone else waiting for OTA to be released?

I live in Finland and I've been checking system updates ~once a week, and still there isn't OTA update.

How does YouTube decide what channels are in my top list?

When looking at the subscriptions list on the Android TV YouTube app, before it goes to A-Z of my subscriptions, the first 10 channels are selectively chosen channels.

How are these 10 channels chosen? On my list, some of those channels haven't had a new video in years; and I haven't watched them in years.

It used to be scrolling through the subscriptions list was fast, so if I wanted to get to the bottom, I could very quickly. Now, it takes forever. I would like to move some channels into the top 10 list. How do I do this?

Box or Chromecast Ultra?

I currently have a Nvidia Shield that is breaking. No voice control. Doesn't connect to google home. It used to work but Nvidia basically said, "Sorryyy, you're outta warranty. ¯|_(ツ)_|¯ " when I contacted them several times. That's a whole issue all together.

So, I am moving on from Nvidia and trying to decide whether to get a cheaper Android TV box. I've been looking at the Mi Box and have read both very good and very "meh" things about it. I'm also considering just getting chromecast ultra for my streaming needs. My streaming breakdown is basically:

  • 60% Plex (a little 4K)
  • 30% Netflix
  • 10% Sports (ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS, etc.)

What do you all think?

4K UHD works and HDR is back on Mi Box Prime Video 4.13.3-googleplay-armv7a

4K UHD used to work fine on Prime Video when side loaded on Mi Box. It stopped working about an year back. Now, with 4.13.3-googleplay-armv7a, 4K UHD is back. Even HDR works!

Now, when you login for the first time on this app, it recognises the Mi Box as Xioami set top box. Earlier it used to recognsie the device as nVidia Shield.

Looks like Prime Video will soon be officially supported on Mi Box(It is already supported on latest Mi TVs in India).

Alternative for the Nvidia shield tv?

I have an Nvidia shield tv 2017 in my living room and now I'm looking for an alternative to my bedroom. I need to be able to play offline movies (preferably in Kodi) and I need ethernet and support for 4K. Streaming services like Netflix and YouTube would be nice but if it's able to receive a cast it's not necessary.

Another shield is of course an option, but an expensive one. Would the Xiaomi Mi Box be a good alternative? Is it as good as the shield?

Can't disable "LET OTHERS CONTROL YOUR CAST MEDIA" setting, for my Android TV. Always says "Could not communicate with your Android TV."

I have a Sony 55" x900f Bravia Android TV, it's running Oreo.

I don't want other people at my home to see what I'm streaming so I'd like to disable "Let others control your cast media".

However, every time I try, the Google Home app gives me the same error.

I've tried rebooting my TV, resetting my TV. Clearing the cache of the Google Chromecast app. I've tried removing the TV from the home network and reconnecting it. I've tried removing the TV from the Google home app, and adding it back to the house. But nothing seems to work.

This subreddit needs to get better at pointing app complaints at proper customer support

I've been posting in this subreddit for years and always see a few common posts.

What ATV device should I buy? Help me with my crappy Chinese box. This app from popular network is not working.

I would say the first two scenarios are handled well but always see an odd lack of people giving proper advice for the app issues on official ATV devices.

I mean there are "some" things we can do to help like suggesting app data is cleared, etc but in reality we can't fix broken apps. I also see it's just the way it is replies.

#####However, the overwhelming right answer is to direct the user at the support email in the app listing (or other customer service options).

Most people having issues don't realize that Google actually REQUIRES developers to list a support email in the app listing. Yes, I'm aware the support can be quite bad and sometimes go unresolved but the only option to get these apps fixed is more customer complaints. I am looking at you Fox and ESPN.

Cheers

Strange Behaviour of my Android TV

Hey there!

My MiBox S acting strange since i switched from a 40" TV to a 32" one, Both run 1080p @ 50Hz.

What happens is that on the 40" TV when i had the Highlight on the Rounded Channel Icons on the Left Side of the Main Screen (like the Netflix Icon, Spotify Icon etc) and clicked it, the "Submenu" was displayed directly below it (where i could choose move up/down etc). Now on the 32" TV this Submenu is on the bottom of the screen, which wouldnt be a problem, BUT i cannot see where i am currently. There is no Highlight on the hoovered option. I can hear the sound of switching through the submenu and so i know when im on the very left or very right side, but i cannot see an optical feedback like a highlight. Same is with the Channel Icons i mentioned above. All other Items and Icons work (like when im browsing throuh the content of netflix channel, spotify etc. But when i get to the very left side which is only the APP icon, i dont see any highlight anymore... Thats very uncomfortable since it makes navigating a guessing game.

Something similar just happend on the youtube app. I wasnt able to see the left side menu at all. It was just a grey bar. I rebooted the MiBox and Youtube just works fine again, but not the icons on the home screen.

Anybody have an idea what the problem could be ?

The second thing is that from one day to another i cannot just click things on the home screen, but instead always the context menu opens. No matter if i just click or hold down the button i always see the context menu and cannot fast activate what i want to open. This happens on the original remote and on a air mouse.

I really dont know whats going on.

Please help!

Fox Sports Choppy picture

I recently purchased a Hisense H8f running Android TV. So far I love the tv and it's UI. But, when I'm running Fox Sports to watch football the picture is really choppy/it stutters. I ran the same game on the tv with my Amazon fire stick and have no issues. App is up to date and so is the TV. Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Mi box s poor wifi 5ghz reception?

Hi I bought the Mibox s and when I try to connect to the router through 1 wall and about 5 meters it deteriorates pretty bad the connection.

The strange is that 2.4ghz has 95% of signal strength and gets around 24mps and sometimes 1mbps, 5.0ghz has around of 65-70% signal strength and gets only 2 to 4mbps, it's driving me crazy d there's no way to the cable reach the mibox :(

What I already tried to do :

1- analyze signal and change the channel.
2- factory reset.
3- factory reset the router
4- tested with couple of devices such as. smartphones at the same location, all of the got the maximum with the same wifi.
5-moved the mibox extremely close to the router and Tested it gets the maximum 100mbps.

Does anybody could help me on this? :(

On screen volume display

Hi there, I have a Philips POS559002 tv and I use a Sonos playbar. The idea is that the TV speakers are muted (which they are) and you use the tv remote for Sonos sound (which I do).

However when you adjust volume it comes on screen, and is understandably not relevant to the actual volume. Is there any way to disable this as it confuses the family no end.
