How does YouTube decide what channels are in my top list?

by BadBreath911

When looking at the subscriptions list on the Android TV YouTube app, before it goes to A-Z of my subscriptions, the first 10 channels are selectively chosen channels.

How are these 10 channels chosen? On my list, some of those channels haven't had a new video in years; and I haven't watched them in years.

It used to be scrolling through the subscriptions list was fast, so if I wanted to get to the bottom, I could very quickly. Now, it takes forever. I would like to move some channels into the top 10 list. How do I do this?

I don't think anyone understands any of the ways YouTube works, even the guys that work at YouTube.

If it is polarizing, dividing and creates problems to world then it's in your list. If it has racists, nazis, Alex Jones then gold mine. First to the top.

Controversy, blood, and violence bring engagement, comments, so traffic, ads and at the end $ to YouTube.

$$$ over democracy and human rights.
