I use 3.5mm audio jack to connect with my speaker and after yesterday's pie update every time I turn off the box there are some poping sound come out of the speaker around per once in 15s. It's loud and noisy so I have to turn the speaker off every time. I am sure it has something to do with the update, but how to fix it?

Wake on LAN shows enabled

But ...

Wake on Cast shows disabled and GREYED OUT

Anyone can help me with enabling this?

I want to be able to cast do this TV without first having to power it on using the remote.

Also how does one use the Wake on LAN / Wireless features?

I have just received my Mi Box 3 "MDZ-16-AB" Android 8.0 Global Version After setting it up and initially finding no option to turn auto update off the box went and auto updated I do not know what the factory version was but it is still Android 8.0.0 after the update The build is OPR6.170623.013.2573

I was unable to test the passthrough options on kodi before the update but after trying a number of versions of kodi "18.5 and 18.0" and SPMC after the update there is no options under passthrough for the HD formats Has this been removed on the latest update? I thought I read when researching that HD passthrough worked on all 8.0 versions but was removed on 8.1?

Any help GREATLY appreciated

My browser says "Source not supported" when I try to cast a youtube video to it.

No other device can cast anything to the built in chromecast anymore since the 9.0 update.

Is there any way to have a way to view the currently playing video stream's statistics in androidtv, regardless of the app?

Seems some apps have this built-in and others don't. Wondering if there's a system-wide way to view currently playing bit rate, resolution, fps, etc.

I just bought a Seagate 2TB external HDD and hooked it up to my Xiaomi MI Box.

When I plugged it in, it asked me to format it, so I did.

I can see the HDD through Xiaomi's settings but the X-plore app and KODI won't detect it.

I now removed it from MI Box and plugged it into my PC and the drive won't show up even though it's visible through device manager.

What can I do?

I just upgraded my tv and sound bar and am looking to take advantage of the dolby atmos that the soundbar has. I'm just wondering what android boxes out there support the dolby atmos passthrough? I bought the mi box s and have some dolby atmos files from the demo disk and cannot get it to passthrough the dolby atmos signal. It just says dolby audio which I know isn't the atmos signal. I'm just wondering if the only thing out there to passthrough the atmos is the Nvidia Shield? I really don't want to have to shell out the $200.

Gboard for tv has stopped working on my mibox after a factory reset.

Does anyone have a safe link where I can download an original copy of the android 9 firmware (not beta 3) for the mibox s.

Updated OTA to android 9 on my mibox s yesterday, but after a factory reset the mibox is now seems not working properly.

I would like to try and reinstall the firmware, if possible, to see if that would correct all the problems I'm having especially the on screen keyboard which does not show anymore.

After factory reset my mibox s, I am unable to login to wifi no onscreen keyboard, no ok button to confirm login and proceed.

On the enter password page, I can only enter my wifi password via a physical keyboard, there is no onscreen keyboard popping up with the remote or keyboard, there is no OK button to press onscreen to accept the login details, the enter key on physical keyboard does nothing.

ie it is basically impossible to login to wifi on a mibox s after a factory reset.

Physical keyboard and onsceen keyboard keys are also not working

Use keyboard to adjust screen position but then to escape hide the menu there is no reaction from the keyboard.

Regret now installing the android 9 update, maybe got to bin this mibox and buy another one with android 8 firmware.

Anyone else have the same or could suggest a fix for this, I have tried factory reset and unplugged/rebooted my mibox 4 times now.

Had to use a LAN adapter to get a network connection. Updating the apps and will see if the onscreen keyboard will function, otherwise its in the bin this device.

Onscreen keyboard not working after updating it on google playstore, had to use a physical keyboard to input my credentials.

Is onscreen keyboard not working anymore, its asking me to use my mobile device which I definitely do not want to do.

Is there a way to roll back to Android 8 on the Mi Box S? I upgraded with no issues other than it broke the Live Channels app.

I have a HDHomeRun connected to network via Ethernet. Everything was working great on Android 8 and all stations tuned in just fine. Now when watching a 720p station it pixellates all the time to the point where it isn't watchable via Live Channels and Plex won't even tune the station. All other stations (480i, 480p, 1080i) tune in just fine, it is just 720p stations with the issue.

I have verified that with my nVidia Shield running the same versions of Live Channels and Plex everything is just fine so it isn't my signal...it is something with the upgrade.

Since it is both Live Channels and Plex with the same issue, I don't hold out any hope for a fix anytime soon as it sounds like it is directly related to the OS upgrade. Is it possible to roll back to Android 8?

I use a VPN on my computer but it’s not compatible with this device. Could someone give me a suggestion on VPNs that work on this device? I also would like to know how everyone is getting live TV/sports on it. I’ve seen someone watch CCC cams in Britain when we’re in Canada.
