Had this same issue. All video playback would stutter but have perfect audio. Tried casting as a quick work around and that wasn't even available at all. Tried clearing cache, didn't work. Had to do a factory reset, this fixed it.
My parents have a Mi Box that has the same issue. Its also stuttering with casting from phone option.
Same issues here. And no Chromecast functionality since the update.
After updating, I did a full reset and now everything works fine
I have this issue on 9.0/beta 3, only in Hulu and I have yet to find a fix.

Same problem here with Hulu freezing every few seconds while the audio continues to play. I subscribe to HULU TV so having HULU working properly is an 100% must. Who knows if or when this will get fixed. Fortunately, I bought my Mi Box S thru Amazon less than 30 days ago and am still within the return policy. I'm returning it. Was hoping to get a less expensive, but comparable unit to the Shield TV with the Mi Box S, but it just didn't work out. You get what you pay for.

Interestingly, advertisements play just fine. I'm casting Hulu for now. Everything else works on the Mi Box S, including Amazon Prime (sideloaded), so let's keep complaining and hope for a fix
No I don't have any issues with Hulu. Casting not tried.
Solved. I can confirm that after weeks of trying, I finally got Hulu working again. The only version working without freezing is Hulu 2.1.3 (for Android TV, a.k.a. "livingroom"). I first force-stopped the previous version, then cleared the cache of the app, then uninstalled it, and finally sideloaded ver. 2.1.3. You can get it from apkmirror. Hulu works now, no freezes. Only problem now is that the closed captions are yellow on black background, haven't found a solution for that yet.
