I checked a lot of guides and all of them rely on getting into a recovery mode. Up until now I was able to solve every issue I had with my devices but I am at a loss here. The sooner you cut your losses the better, I hope yo all have a warranty.
I bought another Mi box (which I was gonna buy to put in a bedroom anyway) and I read somewhere that different power cable could help- it doesn't, don't bother.
Happened to me too. Stuck in a boot loop of approximately 6 seconds. Can't get into recovery mode. Tried changing inputs. I guess I'll just have to go back to my old Chromecast 😢
My update went ok after releasing little bit of space on storage, BUT facing following critical issues:
- TV switching on itself during night!!!
- Sporadically no power on via remote, need to unplug DC cable to boot up!!!
- No voice search working anymore!!!
That's worst update ever and not acceptable to release it.
Also some issues with playing movies as buffering, freezing etc...
Fix it ASAP Xiaomi as this is clearly your fail.
I have other problem with audio speakers connected via 3.5mm jack. Once MiBox is turned off, I hear bump sounds every 1-5 minutes. I think MiBoxS wakes up to check for updates over the internet that is why I hear this turn on sound bump. This wasn't happening with Android 8...
Nice. You can try to enter recovery, factory reset. Last chance: flash beta3 from recovery, it's the same build of the ota pie.
At least you can save your tv box with firmware IMG just flashed it and you are done.

It seemed always possible to connect FAT32 formatted USB stick with update zip and text file with parameters to automatically update box.
